Whatever software you are trying to install you should go to the software manufactures website and download the software from the internet and install it that way. no CD needed. =0)

Depending on the operating system it may find and install the printer anyway. Plug the printer into the netbook and boot the netbook up. It should find the printer and attempt to install it using pre-installed drivers. It may even request to use the internet to find drivers.
If it doesn't then you can try and find the printer drivers on the internet and download them to the hard drive of the netbook. Try going to the printer manufacturer website and looking for SERVICE or DOWNLOADS link.
If that doesn't work and you have access to a PC (or laptop with CD drive) then you could copy the drivers / software from the CD onto a USB memory stick and use that in the netbook.

Why would you go back to XP after having 7?
Installing any operating system:
When you first boot the computer you will see a screen that says press: F1, Delete, etc to enter setup. Once you are in setup (BOIS) navigate with keyboard arrows to find 'boot sequence'. select boot from 'cd'. Remember you have to go back and set this to boot from hard drive after you load the OS (Operating System).
Make sure you save your files, everything will be gone. Also, backup all of your drivers or download them from the internet and store them on a USB flash drive. As you may not be able to access the internet to load them.
Boot from CD>going into setup>install xp>delete partition>create>partition>setup will format drive>quick is fine>will have some prompts for selections, etc.

How to change screen saver on hp mini

Hi Iosherrera,

I see that you are tying to change your screen saver on you HP mini 210-2160NR.

* Your HP mini 210-2160NR has Windows7 Starter Edition installed,
* click on start you will see a search bar type in screensaver,
* then choose Change screen saver,
* the Screen Saver Settings windows will appear on your screen, select the screen saver you desire then click on Apply then OK, this is where you can change your screen saver settings instead of going to personalize.

Windows7 starter edition does not have functions like the other window7 version but the above instructions are a work around to personalize your Windows7 starter.
