Whatever software you are trying to install you should go to the software manufactures website and download the software from the internet and install it that way. no CD needed. =0)
Depending on the operating system it may find and install the printer anyway. Plug the printer into the netbook and boot the netbook up. It should find the printer and attempt to install it using pre-installed drivers. It may even request to use the internet to find drivers.
If it doesn't then you can try and find the printer drivers on the internet and download them to the hard drive of the netbook. Try going to the printer manufacturer website and looking for SERVICE or DOWNLOADS link.
If that doesn't work and you have access to a PC (or laptop with CD drive) then you could copy the drivers / software from the CD onto a USB memory stick and use that in the netbook.
