Hello
Before you buy a new condensor fan motor check the contacts to the motor are not worn or pitted.

Hold or push the contactor in by using an insulated screwdriver and see if the fan motor turns.

Also the start cap you bought? was it the correct one meaning mfd micrfarad?

If all the above checks out ok then you need a fan motor, you can wire the motor direct to check it also.

From what you describe it sounds like the fan motor is burnt up and worn out,not uncommon.

A C blowin hot air. cecked unit outside. Fan is not blowing. Turned off, allowed to cool off. Unit worked 10 minutes. now blowing hot air again

Sounds like another problem with the capacitor being bad, if you cannot hear the compressor operating either this may be the case.

My home air conditoning compresor doesn't always come on.

All timers are located on the main control board in the air handler " inside unit ". There is a circuit board in it near the heat strips and it has a couple of relays that are notorius for going out. Replace the board and the condenser unit " outside unit " should start to operate properly.

My blower inside my house will not come on. outside unit either

Initially, it doesn't sound like your thermostat is working.
If it has a setting to allow the blower (air mover) to be operated alone or continuously, try that.
Generally, if the inside unit (air mover) won't power up, the outside unit will not turn on for more than a couple of minutes because if the inside unit isn't working, pressure builds up in the lines going to the outside unit and an over-pressure sensor will shut it down again.

I have a colman ac unit and the outside unit will not come on. i hear it clicking but nothing happens

On my computer screen these two problems are not the same.

To "garys2003" Clicking you hear is the contactor closing in calling for cooling. If no power is being supplied to the outside unit high voltage the unit will not run. Check your circuit breaker or fuses in the outside power box. If the outside power box is of the non-fused disconnect, check that the disconnect is inserted properly.

To Trenina: Is your unit a self contained unit outside ducted to the inside as with a Mobile Home. If so your evaporator cooling coil may be frozen over stopping air movement, turn the cooling off and set your fan to on until it defrosts, then return to normal operation and leave the fan on during cooling.

If nothing comes on inside as with a central A/C system you may have a problem with the blower motor itself.

No cooling after power out, indicator lights pattern not in manual

The Mitsubishi units have to be reset by turning off the indoor units by switching the remote or thermostat to off. Then turn off the breaker to the outside unit(s). After 30 seconds, turn on the breaker and then you can turn on the remote for cool. If no lights come on on the inside units, most likely you have blown a fuse soldered on the main PC board. At this point, call your technician. A goos tech will be able to wire in an in-line fuse holder so if it should happen again, you can easily replace the fuse. If you do see a light or two come on at the indoor unit but the outdoor unit does not start after 3 or 4 minutes, sounds like you will need to call a technician. Most likely you have a blown fuse on the main PC board of the outside unit. It is not an easy one to replace. Good Luck!

A/C quit running

This question is really to broad to answer. There are several things that could cause it to stop running. I think I would turn everything off, let it cool down for several hours and try it again. When you kick it back on, take note of what is running and what's not running. Inside fan, outside fan, compressor. If the outside unit will not run at all it could be as simple as a grasshopper caught in the contacts. If you hear the compressor running outside but no outside fan, The fan motor probably needs replaced. Please make sure that all power to the unit is TURNED OFF before removing cover plates on outside unit and before trying to remove insects from contact points. Check all wiring inside outside unit while it is open. Also check capacitors for swelling or leaking. If you don't know how to turn all the power off or open the outside unit, you need to call a professional AC technician. Hope this helps. kstfas
