I have an outdated SONY HC-32 mini DV .At first,I had difficulties connecting my cam to my PC.After lots of fuss&buzz it turned out to be the faulty FireWire port at the docking station.Doesn't cost much to fix,but genuine parts (that darn port) was not available.it is then necessary to do some modifications to use compatible parts instead.
No,no,no.problem not completely solved,not yet.
I then could get connections. But it was totally unstable&unreliable. After another lots of fuss&buzz, this time it was the faulty FireWire card that I installed.Replacing with the new one (same cheapo card, but different brand) the problem is now permanently gone.

When this error again shows up try pressing the reset button for 10 seconds to reset the camcoder. It will be a small black button, which can be pressed using a ball pen or pin.
