If you boot to the Bios screen it should tell you the bios number. The latest bios for this mobo is 683F1P52. I could not however find any support for the e6550 chip, this link may help you though

My core 2 duo E6550 does not work on my foxconn g41mxe motherboard

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186187

Motherboard supports Processors with a Front Side Bus (FSB) of either 800Megahertz, or 1066MHz.

1333MHz FSB support is done with OVERCLOCKING.

http://ark.intel.com/products/30783/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-E6550-%284M-Cache-2_33-GHz-1333-MHz-FSB%29

Intel Core2 Duo E6550 processor has a 1333MHz FSB.

http://www.manualowl.com/m/Foxconn/G41MXE/Manual/297328

I reduced the view size to 120 percent. Go to Page 27.
Press DELete key to enter BIOS Setup.

Use Down Arrow key to highlight - Fox Central Control Unit
Press the Enter key

CPU Frequency Setting should be set to 333 (333MHz)
Intel processors are 'Quad Pumped'
333MHz x 4 = Approximately 1333MHz. (1332)

http://www.foxconnsupport.com/cpusupportlist.aspx?type=mb&socket=Socket%20775&model=G41MXE&cputype=Intel

Note the version of the BIOS program also.

Is e intel core 2 duo e6550 compatible with 945g-m3

Yes this motherboard is compatible with the Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 processor since the maximum processor support of this motherboard is core 2 duo LGA775 Socket so everything should be fine between these motherboard and processor.

F672cr(m1610)and intel core duo?

The Acer M1610 was available with the following processors: Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Pentium Dual-Core, Intel Pentium D/4, Intel Celeron D/4 2.0GHz.

Based on this information, It is likely that you can support a Core Duo or a Core 2 Duo, however may be limited to the 2.0GHz models due to clock and multiplier limitations on the BIOS. This may be different if there is BIOS upgrades to support faster processors.

Your best option of the above listed processors will be the Core 2 Duo, however their system specifications report that only the Core 2 with 800MHz or less Front Side Bus are supported.

Also note that the Celeron 430 is a 64bit processor, so it is not likely to work on this system either.

Upgrading CPU on Asus PSBW-LA motherboard

Dealing with OEM PC's can be rather difficult. Most of the specifications on those chips are the same, except the FSB (Front System Bus). The E6300 is 1066MHz and the E6550 is 1333MHz. I don't believe that this is set by jumpers (i'm 95% sure). I would look into BIOS to see if it is an available option to change (though most of the time this setting is set on AUTO). There is a chance that you will need to provide a BIOS update. If you chose to do this be very careful as this is dangerous. Should something interupt this (power outage or something like that) your computer could become useless. Definitely make sure to do a lot of research and preparation before performing an update.
