Is e intel core 2 duo e6550 compatible with 945g-m3

this cpu is not on suoorted list.

on the Lenovo support pages I found three audio drivers for your system (thanks for machine details) they depend on your o/s, and can be found here (select drivers > audio, you can you can type your os in the box to give only result)

this motherboard have processor socket LGA 775, so it can use for pentium 4, dual core and some core 2 duo. this is short list of core 2 duo that have socket LGA 775 specification: Core 2 Duo E4300, E4400, E4500, E4600, E4700, E6300, E6320, E6400, E6420, E6540, E6550, E6600, E6700, E6750, E6850, ..... What temperature are you reading at full load?

According to the ECS website, it should support the 1066 FSB C2D, however it mentioned it's on the 65nm technology. Latest processor support shows for the E6420. So, I doubt it would take the 7500...
