If it is a window unit, it is unlikely to be a 220 volt supply. you say "works really great". If it was a 220 volt unit and you plugged into a 110 volt outlet, it would not work at all.
Are the windows sealed properly? Did u reset the breaker for where that unit gets power? is there any error code? If you need more questions for your AC Repair needs, check us out online.
If you know the model number of your AC unit, go to http://www.whirlpool.com/ Enter the correct Model Number in the Search Whirlpool.com search box. From there your can locate an Owner's Manual (which will have the the warranty info) or search warranties.
Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
you will need a AC Tech to first 'repair' the leak and then to 'recharge' the system. Also, the Tech may have to 'weld in' service valves on the unit if it does not have them - which most window units do not have.
Note: unless you've had a 'leak' you'll never need to recharge the system. I would 'be sure' you needed to recharge the unit before having it recharged.
Sounds like you might really need to have a AC Tech look at the unit before you do anything.
Did you change the capacitor when you changed the fan? If you didn't you need to. And that capacitor is a dual one running the compressor and fan. So make a diagram of it what wires go where the area is real tight and some wires are the same color. You might make labels to be a little easier. Also get the same size capacitor when you change it.
