My "door ajar" light keeps coming on after hitting

It sounds like you have an electrical problem. There may be a wire that is shorting out to the body of your car on the bumpy road. This could be very hard to find. Look at the car wiring loom, especially where it goes through the car firewall to see if there is any external damage to the loom. Also check your car earth wires to make sure they are clean and connected to the body of the car securely.

check the wire on the the switch by removing it normally two or three screws hold it in place,if wires are tight remove them and replace the switch unless you can adjust the plunger

this is usually an issue with the door switch, check the door for correct adjustment, if ok test out the door switch

dont know if this will help but check the ground wire from the battery to the engine

there is a switch on the door frame the door hits this and brakes the turns the light and door chime off, will need cleaning or replacing.

bad door ajar swithc, may be aprt of the door latch, or a seperate plunger button. I think the first though.

sounds like short in "closed door switch" in door frame. or perhaps loose or bad switch. look for a plunger or fip type switch. works like the "light off" switch in your refrigerator.

You need to replace the door jamb switch. Little button on the door jamb that is pressed in when doors are shut.

one of the door switches needs to be readjusted,when you are hitting the brakes the weight and slight movement in the doors or the uni body is enough to leave the door switch move a little.

I had the same problem and found that my sliding side door "closed" switch, which is small and round and in the door frame, was not being pushed open all the way when the door was closed! As soon as I put a credit card in the spot where the switch hits the door all the locks and lights worked again. So I just taped a washer to the door where the pin switch hits it for now. The computer thinks the door is still open and will not alow them to lock and the lights won't operate right either.
