Hello,

how long have you been using this player? I suspect the laser (lens) of the player. I think the laser (lens) is weak that's why it cannot read data/files on DVD discs.

To confirm if actually its a laser problem, insert an Audio CD into the player and see if will play. If it plays, then obviously, your laser (lens) is weak. But if it doesn't play Audio CD, then it might still be the laser (lens) or a mechanism problem.

Get a lens cleaner, use it to clean the lens. If that doesn't solve the problem, get a screw driver, open the player's cover so that you can gain access to the lens, use a cotton board to clean the surface of the lens. This should clean dust or dirt that might be on the lens.

If non of the above solves the problem, then know that you need to replace the laser to a brand new one.

To replace the lens, remove the bad laser, use it as a sample to get exactly the same type and do the replacement. Note that replacing a laser (lens) needs a professional touch, so if you cannot replace the laser, get it to a repairman to fix it for you.

Once this us done, your player will play all DVD discs again.

Good luck.

Hello, read the third paragraph of my first post and you will find the two methods by which you can use to clean the lens.

Purchasing one year ago doesn't really matter. It depends on how frequent/often you play discs on the player. Dust can also be on the surface of the lens which can cause problem.

Okay, the plastic that comes out of the player where disc is dropped upon is called "Disc Tray". So when the disc tray enters into the player, the lens stays under the disc. There is a plastic across the disc tray that has a magnet at the center which hold disc inserted into the player firmly, use a screw driver unscrew the screw hold that plastic to the disc tray sitting and you will gain access to the laser.

    Below is a picture of what the laser looks like;

My BD300 which is just over a year old has stopped reading DVDs. It displays 'Reading' then 'Disc Error' and ejects them It still plays Blu ray

Hello
Just reset the player to its original factory settings and try. If the BIOS ic has confused with so many external commands, this type of problem will occur. By reset it to factory settings will clear the BIOS. To reset do the following.

Press and hold the POWER button for more than

five seconds. This will force the Player to power

off. Press the POWER button again to turn the
Player back on.

Unplug the power cord and then plug the power
cord again after more than five seconds
OK.

Have you tried updating the player's firmware? Here is a link to download the update software for your player. The software is only for windows 2000 but you should be able to run it in windows 2000 compatibility mode if using xp or vista. A firmware update or re-install may resolve your problem.

LG BD300 dvd palyer region free code

To set DVD Region to “0”, download file “6000.zip” (often also called “LG6000.zip”) from here:

http://www.multi-region.net/_media/6000.zip

Save the file and then unzip and extract it to your hard drive.

Now burn the subdirectory RMTM0000 and its contents (not the text file) onto a CD-ROM (ISO format, “closed” CD-ROM).

Insert CD-ROM into the LG BD 370 P player, and when the Region Management System screen is displayed, set the Region Code to “0” using your remote. Once done, press “PAUSE” on you remote to save, and you’re done!
