There is a button with the eject symbol on the right hand side of the drive cover - press it and the drive should open.

How do you open a cd drive on a gateway ne 522 series?

If its like the one I am looking at ... there is no DVD drive, just a plastic filler that you can remove with force (be careful) but there does appear to be a connector on the board. Having trouble finding one. Let me know if you find one to install.

Windows 7 can't access hard drive running Windows XP

The most common reason is that the physical hard drives are not "Pinned" correctly. If you did not move a jumper pin or know what I am talking about, then this probably applies to you. If you would like instuctions let me know!

I was given a new Gateway DX series, All my other computers had a button to open the dvd drawer. I don't see one here. How do I open it? Thanks in advance

The button would be along the right hand side usually, mine's in the silver trim along the right side, its small and theres 3 of them. 2 with an arrow on them and one without.

I own a very dated Gateway laptop 9600 and I want to transfer data to new laptop. I am attempting to download files to CDs but it is not reading the blank disk and asking me to insert disk. Is it possible...

Yes it is - but first - make sure that you have inserted the right disk (cd for cd burner). However, you only have 800 mb of available space on a cd disk to use, and I don;t know how many files you have or how big they are, so I can't say how many disks you may need. However, if your laptop has a usb port, I would highly recommend using an external hard drive instead. A 500 gb drive (made by Seagate) will run you about $125, and is well worth th investment. Hope this helps!

Gateway M505 internal cd-rom slot does not take in a cd dvd

Not unless you know A LOT about electronics. It's best to just remove the drive and buy a replacement on ebay.

You can either search for M505 drive

or use the part numbers from the drive if you want an exact replacement.

Best of luck!
