What does the light that looks like a battery with an x mean ?

Well code 68 usually means there is a problem with the MAP or MAF sensor.
The battery light means the alternator is not charging the battery enough to turn the warning light off. The alternator may be charging, but the extra voltage may not be getting to the battery.

Hello Victor, A charge light means the alternator is not charging the battery. It could be caused by a loose or broken alternator belt. Or a bad alternator or voltage regulator. I would get it looked at before it leaves you stranded with a dead battery.

You have the thermometer looking light [ engine temp], you have the radiator looking light[ low coolant. You have the battery looking light [ battery or alternator, and the check engine light. Also a wrench light [ something else wrong could be a number of things] What light are you referring to?

It looks like a rectangle shaped battery and has something like a fan on it? Could that be the `plus' sign?
It usually means your charging circuit has a problem.Check the voltage across the battery......Auto Zone or Advance Auto will check it for free. don-ohio

the oil light shows ORANGE LOW on oil:
the engine managment light shows when engine sensors detect faults shaped like an engine ORANGE light
head main beam BLUE when ON MAIN BEAM
indicator FLASHING GREEN light
hazard warning RED light
brake fluid low light RED looks like this ( )
brake handbrake ON RED light looks like this ( )
side light GREEN looks like a star
most of the important lights are RED or ORONGE gerry

have the charging syatem checked at your local advane auto parts store if possible. sounds like your alternator has went out.

after the vehicle cooled completely and all the oil drained down it showed half full? that would mean it was anywhere from 2 to 2.5 quarts low? unless you mean that it showed halfway up the full / safe area on the dipstick.

the oil light being on usually means low oil or low oil pressure, if the vehicle still doesn't try to start after it is completely cool then you might have a locked up engine or multiple problems, check the oil again now that it has been sitting awhile look for water in the oil also check for oil in the water.

check battery connections again, make sure they are tight, if lights and such work then try to get a jump from someone. even new batteries can go bad

I would definitely be worried about that oil light though.

Hello If it looks like a battery then most probably one of two things. 1- You have a bad battery. 2- You have a weak alternator that is not functioning properly and can not keep up with the car needs. You should check the alternator charging value and then check the battery. You could do that at any shop that has the Battery/Alternator testing tool. Hope that helps

If so, that's your Check Engine Light. It means there's a problem somewhere that your car's computer is detecting. Unlike the oil and battery lights, the Check Engine Light can come on for many different problems. You should have it looked at by a pro because there's not really any other way to determine exactly what's wrong.

the handbrake light means your handbreaks on you switch might need to be replaced
the battery light means the battery is low on charge either a new battery or alternotor need to know more to answer that one
the curled up wire light could be the engine light

i would say maybe a wire has burnt out of you computer in the car has broken i would get it looked at before driving.
