Sorry for that issue with your GPS system!
Have you tried to Restore your GPS lately, I would suggest you do that! This is how you proceed

• Menu
• Tools (icon on the bottom)
• System
• Then RESTORE

power off the unit first then power on then go to map screen then tap the signal icon bar then wait for your unit to track signal then when you see 5 signal go back to the map screen and check the signal icon and then if there is a firmware update for your unit try to download it.

I updated my Garmin by going to its web site and searching it till I found the free update instruction. Of course, your Garmin has to be connected to the computer first.

I would suggest getting in touch with the Garmin tech support. You may have to send the unit back for a hardware fix. There were some issues with new updates in some of their older products.

If the unit is working okay and you see no issues, you may find better value to leave it alone, and over time save up for a newer unit. If you look at their new NUVI series, these are far improved from the generation of the one you presently have.

When you turn the unit on, you should see an icon on the bottom that looks like a wrench. Press this. On the next screen you should see an icon with a pair of lips and possibly a clock on it. Press this. You should now be able to change the language back to English. If you need any further help, please let me know.

NO, the image on the package is just for show. The newer Garmin C5XX, Nuvi, will allow you to change to a car icon. To get 3D go to the main menu and select the wrench, then select map, then Map view to change to 3D.

Mapsource 2008 only upgrade the streets and POI (point of interest).

Look for the following screen under setting, time.
