I have a Acer Aspire T180 (AST180-UA350B) that has been working well until since lately. The problem is this, when the computer is powered on, sometimes it does not boot up. I heard that the boot files could be corrupted so I formatted the hard drive and it stopped for a while. Now I am having the same problem again. The computer only comes on after turning it on and off a few times - sometimes it takes very long to come on. Do you thing the motherboard could be the problem?

I would suggest you install Linux Mint 10, a free operating system.
Without the restore disks, you would have to buy a new Windows CD. Have a friend burn an ISO image of Linux Mint. Just go to www.linuxmint.com, and there are lots of helpful tips there on how to install. Linux Mint has a similar feel to Windows, so it should be good!
