I would call customer service at Bed Bath & Beyond and ask for replacement parts. You might have to bring in your receipt. They should have no problem replacing the missing items, and if Bed Bath & Beyond doesn't have the items, they could most likely call the company for you.

Plastic on roof of microwave melted

You have in my view two issues----one is what caused this, and two is are individual parts going to be available or would a entire inner cabinet need to be purchased?

I would try to research that with either a call to the maker or on the internet Google the model number with parts.

Unable to eliminate odour from previous cooking despite the fact that I wipe the microwave with a soapy cloth & then with a clean cloth each time to Microwave is used

  1. Fill a plastic bowl with 1 qt. of warm water. Add 2 tbsp. of liquid dish soap and 1/4 cup of chlorine bleach to the water. Thoroughly mix the solution.
  2. Dampen a clean cotton rag in the solution. Wipe all inside surfaces of the microwave with the soapy rag to remove food debris and stains. Scrub stubborn residue with a nylon scrub brush.
  3. Moisten another cotton rag with warm water. Wipe the microwave surfaces with the rag to wash away soap and loose food debris. Thoroughly rinse the inside of the microwave.
  4. Dry the microwave's interior surfaces with paper towels. If odors remain in the microwave, fill a microwave-safe bowl with 1 cup of cool water. Add to the water 2 tbsp. of baking soda, half of a chopped lemon (including pulp and rind) and four whole cloves.
  5. Place a microwave-safe plate on the microwave turntable. Set the bowl on the plate.
  6. Heat the microwave on high for three minutes. Operate the microwave according to the manufacturer's directions. Keep the bowl in the microwave for 15 minutes.7
  7. Remove the bowl from the microwave. Wipe the microwave's interior surfaces with clean paper towels to remove steam moisture.
  8. Leave the microwave door open overnight to completely air out any remaining odors.

My microwave is less than two years old. Yesterday my wife was heating something up that was microwavable and it just completely went out. Everything is off and no power. It is not the. I test the...

Since you did not give the model number I can't look it up. But most microwaves have a fuse or fuseable link to controls power to your unit. Unfortunately, it is only normally accessable for the interior. Suggest you go to sears parts direct and plug in your model number and see if there is a fuse or fuseable link for your unit.

The plastic is a wave guide cover. It will need replaced to keep splatter from getting in there. The arcing has left carbon deposits that must be cleaned and any bare metal repainted with microwave paint. It might be fixable but that depends on the extent of the damage. Eric

Sears Kenmore Elite Microwave F-9 Error

My guess is that it is the main transformer that has developed a fault. If the insulation has broken down - it will arc there instead of the magnatron. Or it could be the magnatron itself. Both are prime suspects - and expensive to replace.

Unless you are particularly attatched to this - I would buy a new unit - and sell the turntable plate to recoup your losses.
