The web-server inside most routers deliberately is *NOT* accessible from the Internet.

The easiest way "out" would be to buy a new router, totally configure it, and then ship it to her,
and then talk her through disconnecting the old router, and connecting the new router.

Can't connect to wireless router?

Here's a website detailing the instructions
http://www.ehow.com/how_2250396_connect-wii-secure-wireless-network.html
If it can't find the network or won't connect, it probably has something to do with the settings on the router itself. You would have to use the instructions that came with the router.
Here are some basic instructions but can vary depending on router model and brand. Using this and the manual you can probably set it up.

I have a Netgear WNR 2000 router for my home network. I am trying to connect an Epson NX420 printer. Instruction state to enter MAC address to router. I have the MAC address, but do not know how to enter...

I am not too familiar with NetGear routers, but all linksys routers have mac address filters, this allows the router to only accept connections from previously stated mac addresses. I never had to do such a thing for my wireless printer, but this could be the problem. Usually wireless printers just ask for a security code (WEP/etc.) and connect on their own. Sorry i cant be anymore direct.

To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router’s wireless settings configured and also needs the wireless cards in all the laptops and or computers to be configured with the router’s wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.

To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps: -
1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable.
2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address.
3. Enter the router setup, login and password
4. Change the admin password
5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA).
7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router.
8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings.
9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router.
10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router wirelessly.

Need to boost my wireless signal for remote laptop

It's almost a DIY deal, but how close are you to Corpus?

The unit you need is a Wireless access point. My favorite, fairly inexpensive, WAP is made by TP Link. http://www.tplink.com/products/product_des.asp?id=116

You can start with one, at ***********'s, add an external antenna, and set it up as a client pointing to your wireless internet connection. If that doesn't work, you duplicate the equipment set up as a wireless access point at your location.

Post back if you need purchasing help or are near Corpus.
