Wireless G USB Adapter

Trying to install the USB adapter in my second computer but keep getting the following message:
"The procedure entry point apsGetInterface Count could not be located in the dynamic link bibrary wlanapi.dll."

Hi,

Often these USB WiFi adapters need their CD to be run first and their drivers installed before actually plugging the USB device. Additionally, it is often required that your anti-virus be momentarily disabled when the installation is performed and likewise when the unit is asked to be rebooted.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

    If I may add, if for some reason the file might be missing or corrupt in your installation CD, you can download "wlanapi.dll" from here and copy/paste it in you C:\Windows\System32.

    Additionally, this page might shed some additional information should you be interested.

Hello there.

As you are getting this error message the best thing to do would be install the USB adapter with the latest drivers from the DLINK website.

Please click here . The website currently says its down for maintenance but if you check back shortly it should be working normally.

When attempting to set up or make network connections on a Windows computer, you may encounter a Limited Or No Connectivity error message similar to the following:
Limited or no connectivity: The connection has limited or no connectivity. You might be unable to access the Internet or some network resources.

This message can result from any of several different technical glitches or configuration problems. Follow these steps to resolve Limited Or No Connectivity errors in Windows.
1. Determine whether your network access is functioning properly (that you can reach local network resources and the Internet). If you are using a broadband Internet and Windows XP Service Pack 2, this message is often a false error report. See Microsoft Knowledge Base article 892896 for details on how to work around this error appropriately.
2. If your network access is non-functional. continue to the following steps.
3. If your computer connects to the network through a broadband router , resetting (powering off and on) the router may resolve the issue. If not using a broadband router, or if resetting your router only temporarily resolves the issue and the error message re-appears later, continue to the following steps.
If connecting to your network using Wi-Fi and using wireless security, your WEP or other security key may not be set properly. Check the wireless security configuration on your computer's network adapter and update if it necessary.

Cannot get thomson 123g wireless adapter installed.


Well my friend, they are not alone to be "not helpfull", ive tryed since the 17 fubruary to help a friend of mine to solve a warranty isue with toshiba, belive me when i say they try all ways to NOT help us.

I look forwad to hear from you after you tranfer that file my frien:)

Do I need a booster?


Greetings myname is Mark and I will be glad to assist you. Sorry for the bad news but I have as a IT replaced the netopia adapter more than once with your very complaint. Two wire routers as a rule especially older models have a very low signal strength on the upling. Your solution is to replace the adapter. Have a great day.

You all can try contacting your you ISP while they will provide you with some configuration and than it would work smooth as on direct conneted to modem .... its mainly the problem from Static ip , dynamic ip and pppoe mainly the connection we get is of PPPOE... and you can try puting PPPOE up to then Dynamic Ip

Wireless adapter


Goto control panel, open up system, choose hardware, device manager, look in Network adapters to see if it shows wireless. If you dont have one in system, you can get a wireless PCI card for internal installation or you can get wireless USB from Best Buy, Circuit City etc.....either one is ok...USB is easiest to install of course.

Wireless problem


Hello router_lost

I believe you are correct in your assessment that the issue is related to your router. Likely, that issue involves configuration - of your router and/or your laptop computer.

(01) Is the computer that is running Vista connecting to the Internet (via the router) using a wireless network adapter or a wired network adapter?

(02) Assuming that the Vista computer is connecting to the Internet wirelessly, please, tell us the manufacturer, model number and version of your router.

If the Vista computer is connecting "wired" and not "wirelessly" AND you have no other devices on your LAN (home network) that are successfully connecting to the Internet wirelessly through this router, then, it's possible that the router's radio is not enabled. However, if the laptop is "seeing" your router, then, of course, that isn't the case.

(03) Are you sure you are attempting to connect to the correct wireless router from your laptop?

I've seen it quite often where users will think they're connecting (or trying to connect) through their own router when, in fact, the router is a neighbor's (not their own).

(06) You can avoid this possibility by assigning an unique SSID to your wireless radio. In other words, change the SSID (wireless router's "name") to something other than the manufacturer's default SSID. (e.g. Netgear's default is "netgear" and Linksys's default SSID is "linksys", etc.)

It's best, for security purposes, not to assign a revealing SSID (e.g. "TheSmiths" or "2201YourStreetName", etc). Call it "BlueMoon" or whatever you like. Just something unique yet not revealing of your identity or location.

(07) Please, tell us the manufacturer, model number and revision of your router.

(08) Please, tell us the manufacturer, model number and serial number (or service tag) of your laptop computer.

(09) Please, tell us the operating system that is running on your laptop computer.

W/ this information, we'll be able to provide you with specific instructions for correcting your laptop's connectivity problem at home.

(10) Do you know if you have WEP or WPA encryption enabled on the router?

If you do, then you will need to enter either the router's wireless encryption "password phrase" or the hexadecimal key code password in order for the laptop to be allowed to access the Internet. You should only have to do this one time - then your computer will save the information.

If you've been connecting to free networks fine, then you've likely not been required to enter a password phrase or key in order to connect.

Please, post back here w/ answers to the questions I've asked here along with any other questions, comments, and observations you might have. We'll continue to work w/ you on this issue until it's resolved.

System file is corrupted


Look here Below, for your "Fix". But ya gonna hve to find a way of getting the info into your PC.. Does it have USB? You could remove the Hard DRive and connect say Via USB/IDE/SATA adapter on another PC install necessary files into the drive, and or fix it there, and or return to the "Bad Machine" and perform the Fix as per below link.
