NETGEAR WG111T 108 MBPS WIRELESS USB 2.0 ADAPTER stopped working

Hi, I have been unable to sign up for some reason - this is the problem I wanted to post. Can you assist at all?

My NETGEAR WG111T 108 MBPS WIRELESS USB 2.0 ADAPTER used to work perfectly. Suddenly it has lost its connection and keeps searching in a never-ending loop. I've tried everything - reinstall, reboot, reenter code, etc.. no luck. When I re-do the setup, it finds the wireless network, but drops trhe connection after a few seconds and then searches again - finds the connection (channel 11) once more for a second or two and then drops it and searches endlessly. Never finds it again after that. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

I have to uninstall and reinstall to get the wireless to work with my router. It works for like 2 days and then won't keep a contact. Why does it keep having problems?

What are you trying to connect your USB wireless device to?
Is it to a wireless hot spot?
or to a Wireless Access Point/Router?
When you find a connection, what is the signal strength?
I assume you have configured your Access Point correctly as well as making it secure. You should connect a computer to the Access Point using a network 10BaseT cable to check the Access Point configuration, especially the wireless configuration.

If you are trying to connect to a wireless Access Point and you have a weak signal, move your computer closer to the Access Point or move the Access Point to a better and higher location to give you a better wireless coverage. Note, walls can affect the wireless signals between the Access Point and the wireless network card and wireless USB device, especially reinforced concrete walls.

You try to test another one if still have a problem connecting with your wireless router.
If that router can see another wireless network available then maybe your Netgear wireless adapter have a problem incomplete installation or the wireless device is defective.

Hope my tip will help you a lot.

Does this happen if you try connecting it into all USB ports? Try another USB port. Do you know if your USB ports are 2.0?

Cannot connect to wirless with adapter on new computer

Although this model appears to support Windows Vista according to the manual for it (ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/WG111T_UM_04Feb07.pdf) the 64 bit version is not mentioned and, therefore, probably not supported. I'd take the wireless adapter back and find one that supports Vista 64 for certain. Some do.

I have a wireless netgear usb adapter and nothing else, its not installed on my computer and I want to put it on, it wont work, what do i need to get my usb wireless adapter to work??? It is a wg111t...

You first need to install the driver. You can download it here:
http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/wg111t.asp (it should have came with your adaptor)

You must also have a wireless router available for this to work, or in an area that has WiFi available.

Netgear Wireless USB Adapter wg111t; installation

Hey there Kjantzi, I have found the site for Netgear, and as I read it the update is one of the options but the drivers and firmware are there as well. Check here:
http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/WG111T.asp
Choose the version for your OS on the left, and it gives you detailed instructions, including the update process, if needed. If you still have problems let me know. Good Luck!
