HAve a emerson SDTV model CR202EM 8 with no remote cant change TV modes. Tried Directv remote still dont work

In order to program a Directv remote you slide the switch at the top to tv, hold down the mute and select button at the same time until the indicator light at the top of the remote flashes twice. Then you enter a 5 digit code. If you go to the directv website http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPageIF.jsp?assetId=P4380036#h:620.315
and put in the brand and model of your tv, it should show you what code to use.

[2] Power on the DIRECTV Receiver
[3] Slide the MODE switch to the DIRECTV position

If you go to Big Lots and purchase their 4 device RCA Universal Remote, the code 10171 will completely control your Emerson SDTV. All functions including Inputs will work with that particular remote. The beauty is it's only 8 bucks.

I was just reading everyone’s comments regarding not being able to find the Emerson LC320EMXF 32′ LCD TV code for the Comcast DC50X Digital Transport Adapter. I’m using the Sylvania code of 11864 and the Comcast DC50X remote seems to work fine. Hopefully it’ll work for you as well.

The RC64RB has more codes in it. Unfortunately, it is an extra $25. BUT, it is backlit, which is very cool at night. With my RC64RB, I get 16 codes to enter for your TV (Emerson HDTV).
