I forgot my password with Amazon that I used to buy a stereo receiver recently. I now want to order a Yamaha YPT-320 61 key persoal keyboard with AC Adapter, Deluxe Keyboard stand and professional headphones. I clicked on "forgot my Password" and it said it would send me an E-Mail, which it hasn't. Why can't I just use a new password. Don't you want my business anymore?

Midi-USB cable providing wrong data (notes) to pc? I have a Yamaha YPT 220 / PSR E223 keyboard, and a "generic midi usb" cable wich is actually an Agptek midi usb like cable, (Treble cleff logo ;) ). My...

Make sure that you have the correct midi mapping for your Yamaha. There should have been a software program, called a mid map editor (MME), that came with your keyboard. If you are unfamiliar with this, it is used for changing the values that are sent through the midi cable into your computer (for example, you can change the C0 to be C#0, or any other value, including a numeric value instead of a tonal value). If you bought it used there may have been values changed on midi-trigger presets, which would cause this. If you do have the program, use it to at least investigate that all of the values are in the right places. Often times when someone who is unfamiliar with an MME installs it they open it to see what it is. They change things (not realizing they have done that) and then can't figure out why there is a problem.
Also, make sure your midi cable has the same connections as your keyboard. Some brands make very slight variations to avoid patent issues that may make some cables and instruments incompatible. I have two cables that work fine with certain midi controllers, but when switched they both fail. It's good to make sure the plug ports are clean of dust/dirt, too.
If you are familiar with these problems and they are not yours, you may need to get a different cable. Try to borrow one from a friend to see if the cable is the problem before you buy one. If that still doesn't fix it you may have an internal software or hardware issue. Good luck! I hope I could help.

I was hoping to find a free download for a yamaha-ypt-300 keyboard but no luck

Try to search for XG midisongs and karaoke files (song extentions should be .mid and .kar) on the Internet. There are lots of free songs out there!

When I power my ypt-300 the LCD lights up and

Press the FUNCTION button till "Local Control" appears and then select it "On".

It appears this may take quite a bunch of presses to get down to the Local Control option.

Refer to your manual around pages 56 and 57 to see the list you step through. Local Control is about 2/3 the way down page 57.

Refer to 59 for the simple instruction toe set Local Control on or off.

You can get a free download of the manual at:

http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/ContentDetail/ModelSeriesDetail/0,,CNTID%253D62635%2526CTID%253D205000,00.html

Click on the resources tab to get to the download.

Yamaha pt300 keyboard. only make loud humming sound. Keys register on monitor when touchedas do change in song etc...but no sound other than humming.

If the unit uses a wall transformer, make sure you have the right unit.

The Yamaha correct ones are branded Yamaha. Use of the wrong one can damage keybooard or be inoperative.

The PT300 did not come up as a valid keyboard. Suspect the number is either YPT-300 or a P-300..

I want to fit speakers to my keyboard

Hi, No Problem! The headphone jack on your keyboard is a line level output, which means you can plug it into a stereo receiver, tape recorder, amplifier or power speaker system. The speakers on the keyboard will be disabled when using this jack as well. Good Luck, this should Fixya!
