Zebra LP 2844-Z Thermal Label Printer Logo
Anonymous Posted on Nov 03, 2010

Hi, I have been recently upgraded to a new PC at work and now the LP2844-Z label printer no longer prints out the correct labels as it did with my old PC. The bar codes aren't even showing. I tried calibrating the printer but that didn't make any difference. Also our I.T. guy look at it but he gave up after an hour of trying everything he could think of to correct the problem. Could you give me any suggestions as I really need to create bar code labels ASAP. Kind regards, Dennis Vogelsang.

    Hi,
Thank you for your time. I'm not a computer expert nut will try and give you the information you seek.
The OS we run is Apparel 21 and the PC I have been given is a Lenovo ThinkCentre with an Intel Core Duo 2 processor. Is this what you have asked me?

ASounds like a compatability issue. Is you new PC a different OS? If so you may need to replace the printer.

    hello Dennis

Apparel 21 is a software and service provider to the fashion industry - it is not an Operating System (OS)

what i need to know is , when you boot up the IBM computer what OS comes up ? Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 ?
also, the model and type is located on back of the desktop , or on the right side (front) , may have a small black label with S/N as well as the model number

  • Anonymous Nov 03, 2010

    Oh, sorry!
The OS is Windows XP and the little black label on the side reads: MT-M 7360 -PR2 and
    S/N R8MH ZR8
    Hope that helps?

My Zebra ZDesigner LP2844 feeds a blank label after printing a label. How do I make it stop doing that?

Define your label size correctly. Measure your LABEL exactly, do not include the backing paper or the gap. Calibrate the printer. HOW?
Power off printer. Press and hold the green feed button down and power printer on. Count one, two and release green button. The printer will calibrate and move labels and then print some stuff on the label. Wait until it has comletely stopped. wait another few seconds and the press the feed key once. The printer will print "out of dump". You should now be ready to print again.

Cannot print multiple copies

Is the printer set for label taken, if it is then it is waiting for the sensor to see the label is gone before printing the next one. Apart from that, check the settings in the driver and make sure it is all set correctly

We have a LP2844 printer that prints multiple blank labels sporadically. How do we stop it?

Make sure the label size is set correctly and the printer is calibrated. If this doesn't work download drivers from Nice Lable or Seagul Scientific websites to suit you Printer, these are more adjustable than the original Zebra drivers and handle small labels better.

2 LABELS COME OUT

your label length is set incorrectly, there are 2 things it could be
1) your software is telling the printer the label length is longer then the current labels, even if the label size is out my a single millimeter the printer will give you this issue of feed an extra label. you need to change this in your software. you can set a label size smaller then the current label size and it will work correctly

2) you software is not setting a label length and so the printer is going off its internal setting, to recalibrate hold feed and power up the printer letting go after the light starts flashing

it is important to note that label roll will change slightly over time so even though you are ordering the same labels as a year ago the manufacturer will have slight changes from batch to batch

Only every fourth label Prints

We've been having problems with ours. Make sure that the properties are correctly set, landscape, portrait, 180' rotation, label size, on the printer properties. Then check again through whatever package you are using 'printer properties' and try a print. You may have to re-enter properties each time you print.
