If nothing, absoutely nothing appears on your screen, not even BIOS startup and not even with AC adapter, your only solution is to take your laptop to a reapir service, to check point by point electronic components of main board.
If the Hard drive LED is active and it appears that the computer is going through the boot up process then your screen if faulty, probably due to a faulty backlight controller. Try shining a small torch near the screen and see if you can make out any details on the screen. If so then the backlight needs to be repaired.
Check the resolution of the screen by right clicking on an empty part of the screen and choosing properties. Go to settings and make the resolution 1078 x 768 and hit apply and ok. There are instances when the resolution will change from a software update etc. that is not supported by the monitor or graphics card.
