I have a Genie Stealth Pro. It will not close. If I push the "set limit" toggle on the unit itself it will open the door a few inches farther and then I can close. I tried diconnecting it from the trolley and it still wont close. I tried the pressure adjustment and still nothing. I changed out the logic board and it still wont close. There is a relay on the logic board and one on the board directly in front of the logic board and both relays will snap but nothing moves. The door operates freely manually. I checked all the grounds on the circuit boards. Anyone have an idea. I'm ready to take a hammer to it. Thank you

SOURCE: Just installed a new genie garage door opener.

Change the sensor and make sure the magnet comes close enough to activate it. Sometimes I have even changed the magnetic ones for real switches too.

Testimonial: "Thanks for the info. Interesting you mention a magnet. I don't see one unless its built into the carriage."

I have a genie pro 88 garage door opener push the button and it opens just fine traviels up to the limit switch and stops perfect. then push the button to go down and nota,

are the wires connected to the motor correct
for the limit switch there should be one wire ( normally black or neutral going to the center connection and the other wire ( red or active wires going to either of the other two terminals
that set up means that power is available to the limit switches and the return is the neutral wire
it works like this
on the up direction power is delivered to the motor by the controller box through a closed limit switch
when the up limit is circuit is broken the motor stops
the down button reverses the polarity of the motor in the controller box and so the motor runs in reverse through the the lower limit switch until that circuit is broken In the down action the upper limit switch circuit is completer but the control box has no power to it until the lower switch circuit is brokenis broken
the motor is dc voltage and to getting it to go up or down is done by the control box changing polarity for the motor power according to the button position pressed on the remote

I have a genie pro max PMX 300 IC/A garage door opener and bought a Genie 3-button remote (model G3T-R) and I can't get it programmed. I push the button on the back of the opener, push the button

Take the opener apart and see if there are about 4 numbers that can be set. If you have an older remote take it apart and match the numbers, then program it.

Garage door wont close completely

There are a couple of reasons this might happen. First make sure it closes by hand all the way, if not there is something wrong with the door that will need attention first. If it does close then hook the opener back up. On the opener rail at the end by your header there is a little magnetic relay that is wired to the motor head. This can be moved farther up or down the rail. This sensor tells the opener when to stop in the downward direction. Loosen the set screw and move it toward the header 1/2 inch or so and try to lower the door. Do not move it too much at one time and if you do the door will hit the ground and come back up. Thanks BB

My genie garage door opener opens with no problem but when closing it only goes down a few inches then goes back up. I have went through an hour of troubleshooting with genie techs but still cannot get it...

Most openers have a safety cut out to prevent the door hitting your car when closing ,check the door guides to see if the door jams or is twisted.Depending on the model check the drive chain for sticking links or binding.Failing all disconnect from door and run unit without door. This will narrow problem to door or closer.

Genie Directlift garage door opener, wall control problem.

Sounds like a skinned wire on your front or rear limit switches is touching metal. Go over your low voltage wiring and test again.
