Compaq Presario sr1550nx wont power up. Green light on power supply is blinking. What is that telling me?

If all plugs etc are connected correctly and it is in standby, press the power switch momentarily and it should boot up. If not press the power button for 5 - 6 seconds and if that doesn't work there is a problem with possibly the power supply.

your power supply is bad. the blinking light means there is a failed component in the power supply. replace the power supply and you will be good to go. around 60 dollars at any computer place. please rate me thank you.

Bad Power supply. Its easy to fix yourself, and will cost you about $37 with delivery.

Possibly bad memory module. Try just 1 stick of memory at a time to eleiminate the bad one. If only 1 in there replace it

4 blinks, 1 second apart is a power supply overload. Have the power supply replaced if you haven't added any additional hardware lately. But also make sure your hard drive isn't bad and pulling an overload of power. it's rare, but I have seem that happen on some western digital hard drives.
