SOURCE: brushes do not rotate

Sounds as though your drive belt has come off. Or you have an object stopping the brushes from rotating.

Not to bad to put in.
You can also find them on Ebay cheaper.

SOURCE: NO DIRECTIONS FOR HOW TO ATTACH AND USE STAIR TOOL FOR MY HOOVER

Here is the link to Hoover's manuals. I could not locate a model F5900-900 But i believe it is F5914-900. Please verify before downloading manual by checking the serial number stick for a model. Its silver and should be on the back or bottom.

Go to www.Hoover.com. Click on Carpet Cleaners. Click on Steam Vac All Terrain. Click on Learn more. Then click on Download the manual in pdf. The manual explains all.

I need to replace my hose to my steamvac model F5842 can you help? Ordered a hose but I don't think it's the right one

Your Hoover SteamVac model F5842 needs the Hoover SteamVac replacement hose part number 40309007. You may find a link to the correct hose for your model below on our website:

In terms of replacing the hose, this is an older style SteamVac, which attaches the hose to the front of the Dirty Water Solution Tank.

I want to use upholstery cleaning tool and do not know how to hook it up

I'll be happy to walk you through step by step how you can attach the hose to your Hoover SteamVac.

Here are step by step instructions for you:

Step 1. To prevent possible leaking, remove
clean solution tank by pressing down on
tank handle (D) and pulling forward; set
tank aside (do not set tank on furniture2_bing.gif).
Remove hose from storage rack.

Step 2: Step on handle release pedal (E) and
lower carpet cleaner handle until it rests
on the floor.
Unlatch back part of recovery tank and
remove lid.

Step 3: Remove recovery tank front panel (F)
by sliding it straight up.

Step 4. Replace panel with converter (G).
Slide converter halfway down opening
until it is firmly in place.

Step 5. Before connecting tube (H) to
cleaner, make sure black tabs are
extended by pulling tan collar toward
tube.
Open door on hood labeled “Stair/
upholstery Cleaning Connection”. Press
round solution tube connector onto
round projection inside door. Press connector
collar down firmly to ensure
that it is fully connected.

manner. Position front of lid under tabs
(I) on front of tank. Rotate lid down onto
tank.
Make sure lid is secure on all sides
before cleaning.
For full suction, it is important that
the recovery tank lid is properly

Hoover model 5870-900

you dont have the lid on correctly, if you can lift the lid up, then you have it on incorrectly.
