You have all the elements of a running engine. Final items to check:

1. Muffler. Can become clogged with insect homes or carbon deposits. Restricts back pressure and it will not run or will run poorly.
2. Your spark could be insufficient in which your Ignition Module/CDI would need to be replaced.
3. Insure that the 4-screws holding the carburetor holder / lower crankcase are tight and that the gasket is in good condition.
4. Spark plug gap may be too large.

Insure the engine will run by putting about a tsp., of premix down the spark plug hole and pull over. If you are not getting it to run for about 5 seconds, you likely have an electrical problem at the Ignition module/CDI nothing out sufficient spark. This would likely be cost prohibitive to repair.

I'm betting on the muffler...

No start. If pull 300 times will seem like wants to. cleaned carb passages in and out, has spark and seems to have full compression. I give. TB32ec.

Hi Scott try cleaning the air filter and then try running with just a small amount of fuel in the block itself. If it still wont run it's most probably the gaskets on the carb.

I have a 2 cycle Troy-Bilt line trimmer. I've had

Sometimes, unfortunately, the chemicals and solvents used in a "dip" and/or cleaning solution are too harsh. They tend to "swell" the very sensitive check valves inside the carb. The idle fuel circuit has one, the high speed main nozzle has one, and there are one or two inside the primer pase assembly on top of the carb. You state that it won't idle, but does it run otherwise. If it does, some carb adjustments may be required on the L and H screws to get it to idle.

TROY BILT TB 70 TRIMMER-NEW CARB KIT-NEW PLUG. NEW FILTER- NEW GAS--STARTS FINE IN CHOKE #1 POSITION- RUNS IN POSITION #2- WHEN SELECTOR IS MOVED TO POSITION #3 ENGINE DIES- ALMOST LIKE FUEL...

If you rebuilt the carb did you turn any of the screws on the carb while cleaning or take out, you might have just the low idle screw closed a little to much open half turn and see what happens. If you look at the carb where needle screws are located on the side,if you have two screws it will be stamped with an " L " and?or an " H " next to each screw. If you only have one screw then turn that one, to left to get more fuel. Good Luck...

The rope broke to my troy bilt wed eater and when I put it back together it ran for a little while and suddenly died. I can't seem to get it to start again, do you have any ideas?

You have to start with the basics and by process of elimination work your way up from there. This machine NEEDS to have 4 things to start:
1. Compression
2. Good strong spark (blue in color)
3. Fresh clean fuel
4. Clean air supply to engine.
If you are sure these 4 things are up to par, then you can proceed with a more detailed and comprehensive evaluation of the problem. From experience....I will say it probably is a fuel delivery problem....but is the fuel fresh? Is there a nice strong Spark? Is the fuel filter clean and working (in the fuel tank)? Is the air filter nice and clean? All these things affect the machines ability to EVEN start up, much less run right. For my money, if the machine has several hours on it...it could be carboned up or it could need the carb rebuilt...or it could need the air gap to the ignition module re-adjusted....see what we are up against?

Troy Bilt string trimmer starts but dies when I try to give it gas to trim.

Try mixing up some fresh gas mixture if it is over 30 days old it is considered bad gas. Or the carburetor may need to be rebuilt.

Rough idel and no throttle on a Troy -bilt BT25ET

It sounds like you have done everything but replaced the fuel filter. Which is usually located in the fuel tank. And clean the muffler. You will probably find some oil and carbine build up.

good luck

Bulb stay compressed for some time - no fuel to the carb

Replace or rebuild the carb or... get a good trimmer that's not a RYOBI sold under the names of Troy Bilt, Bolens, or MTD Yard Machines. My 2 cents. :)

Troy Bilt TB 465SS Pony 4 cycle weed trimmer won't start

Sounds like you need to take the carb. apart and clean it. I like to use a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning teeth), to clean the small ports in carb. they work great for this job. Make sure to either clean or replace the small screen in thcarb. as well.
