Kenmore Elite HE4 Electric Dryer heats but drum will not turn. My dryer (model 110.8509) is about 5 years old. A couple of days ago, it didn't have any power so I flipped the circuit breaker and it started working. I've been using it the last couple of days and used it yesterday morning. Last night when I put a load in to dry, it didn't work. The control panel is on, but when I select the settings, and press start, it doesn't do anything. I flipped the breaker and that didn't help. I tried turning it on again and it didn't start. I left the room for several minutes and when I returned, there was a burning odor in the laundry room and the inside of the dryer was hot. It seems as if everything is working except for the drum.

The dryer is definitely heating up and the timer is working. I opened the front and cleaned out all of the lint (how did all of that get in there?) and disconnected and cleaned the exhaust. The belt is on and not broken. I am able to turn the drum manually. I activated the diagnostic test mode didn't get any error codes. The dryer is definitely heating up and the timer is working. Thank you. I scheduled an appointment with Sears and signed up for some sort of protection agreement - $198.00 for parts and labor. Not coming till Thursday though...
btw, i know what a thermostat is but what is a "high limit"?
