You can also use your USB cable to charge (from your PC). Not sure whether you can use the wall plug using something like Blackberry's charger but worth a try

After connecting the charger cord and plugging it into the wall socket, is the iPhone to be turned off or turned on?

If you turn it off, it will charge faster. I've done both. This morning my charge was very low. Then I noticed the plug became out of the socket. Try it both ways, see what happens. If you are charging with it on, have you closed all your apps? Double press the on/off button on the bottom front. Any open apps will appear half size. Place your finger on the app, and slide it UP and "OFF" the unit. Turn it off, try charging. Be sure your plugs are all the way in. If you try it turned off, the unit will briefly show your current charge, then turn itself off.

Describe your how to charge my magellan roadmate 5045...does it have to be on?

hi crystaldehar

no, it doesnt have to be on, but does take a few hours to charge...magellan recommends using the car charger or the ac adapter to initially charge it for atleast two hours...if you use the car charger, there should be a light on the charger to tell you its working and charging your unit (provided theres nothing wrong with it)

you should also have gotten a usb cable with your unit, it will (should) also charged while hooked to your PC via the usb cable.

let me know if you need further help...HERE is your manual

How do I charge the Garmin 265 WT with my desktop PC? I don't even know how to tell if the battery needs charging. This is my first GPS and I have no idea how to charge it, tell if it's on, etc etc

yes, you can use your pc via the usb cable provided with your unit, or the car charger.

to tell if its charging, go to the map screen then menu, the charge indicator is on the top right of screen...should be green while charging.

Does Gogear charge via the USB plug or only via the 13 amp plug

You should be able to use the play side but I do not think you will be able to charge it.
The transmitter side is taken from the earphone socket.
The power comes from the mains plug via. the Philips lead and is at 5 volts.
I could be telling you wrong as I do not know what adaptor you are looking to purchase.

Help!

Turn on your garmin out of the car, connect to a PC via USB cable and see if the battery indicator goes away. If it does then the USB to PC cable is working and charging the unit. To test the car adapter, you can unscrew the tip of the plug to examine the fuse. Most Garmin car charger units have a light on them that ilimunates when you plug it in and turn the ignition. It could be that the plug is just loose in the socket. The picture shows the unit running on battery. If you plug in the usb cable and this indicator goes away, then it should be charging.

Charging socket has come out

DOnt know where you can get it fixed but I "hard wired" it so it has now become a GPS only.

What a stupid plug they came up with (so much for supporting Kiwi made)
The amount of stress that is placed on the plug while its pllugged in and your driving, something has to give sooner or later.
