Black screen when switch on Asus laptop (N61J) ... I turn on mypc and the screen stays black. I tried ...
When the screen turns on does it show anything or does it turn on and go to black?
If it goes to straight black it could be two things typically. 1. The LCD screen is having an issue. Connection cable / LCD screen itself. 2. The Graphics Card has gone out.
ysounds like you either have to replace the backliught tubes and/or the circuit board that runs the backlight tubes.backlight tubes are available on ebay from a gentleman in oklahoma city oklahoma
please explain further. keeps going black from where? after turning on the laptop? of after windows logo? if after windows logo screen turns black if a no boot issue where laptop cannot load system files. if screen is black after turning on no manufacturer logo and windows logo or anything then it might be the LCD or video card / motherboard. to isolate try connecting your laptop to an external monitor and check if you will be getting the same problem. if no display from the external monitor then its a video card issue, if video card is integrated needs to replace motherboard.
Try reseating the memory, if that doesn't work then take the battery out and only hook up the ac adaptor then turn on the laptop to see if you get video.
When you say it turn black, could you try to see that ther are
still picture on it(maybe you've black light problme)...or just completely black .And do your laptop have any activity...say harddisk light still flashing,..etc..
Bye,takecare.
