Hitachi 50ux26b The tv will power on for a few seconds then go off with D975 lit up.

Replace Both of your STK ICs they are big black ICs will have Part# on them STK392-570s Call Mats Electronics 1-800-628-1118 Also CKf903 and pico fusses they look like resistors but are yellow or Green 5amps and 6amps

The deflection board needs replaced.

There is a chance that the one of the power relays are causing the problem. They have been known to be intermittent and even work for 5 sec. or 5 days before failing. When the back is off, turn the set on and when it shuts down lightly tap the relay/s in the power supply lightly and see if the set comes on for any length of time. If it does, replace the relay
and you will fix the problem. Let me know what you find.

The two most common problems with Hitachi projectors are in the verticle sweep circuits or the convergence. Both can cause that symptom. The good news is it is likely to be bad connections on the convergence power pacs or the verticle output IC or both. If bad connections are observed it is a good idea to resolder all suspected bad connections in general. There is a remote chance that the problem is out of tolerance filters on either the main sweep board, or a problem on the PIP module circuits. Consult with a repair specialist if you need more information.

The Hitachi TV is an easy TV to trouble shoot, but one needs to remove the back from the TV and observe the LED's (green lights).
The problem you stated could be many things wrong with the TV, but you must observe the LED's. If you want to do this yourself please observe lights and tell me what lights don't light. There is about 9 LED's (green lights). Next to each LED there an symbol number like D975 etc.
Please let me know, be careful when you remove the back don't touch any thing, just observe, I don't want you to get hurt.

You had this problem before and had TV into a 'TV REPAIR' shop and the problem came back and you want to repair it yourself ??
There is no known common fix for the TV, so I would recommend that if you want color back on your TV that you have a factory authorized service dealer look at your TV and have them give an estimate and confess their warranty.

I don't think you'll find the solution without professional help. Have it serviced.

well it sounds like a leaky capacitor in the power supply. Where?, is the question. There are alot of caps and it could be in many different places. Probably gonna need a pro to help find. Probably worth repair though under $200 i bet.
