Hi, My Acer - Travelmate 5720 laptop is not booting suddenly, It was only 2 years old. I cant see the power lights switching on in the laptop but adapter is workign fine. Could you help to solve this problem. Thanks Suresh

Sounds like a system board failure. try to remove the battery, hard drive if possible and the memory modules, then try to switch it on again using the adapter. if you still do not see any indication of power going to to the laptop, you'll need to get it serviced and most likely, the motherboard will need to be replaced. hope this helps and a rating would be appreciated

Hi My acer travelmate 5720, only switches on after the 3 volt (cmos/bios?) battery has been removed and replaced, comper the switches on by self, when in windows aall good . when i press power button...

Sounds like your CMOS battery is dead, just replace it and you should be good.

Does it start to boot Windows, or does it ask for the
password before Windows starts to boot?

There may be a password set in the BIOS, to clear that, open
the case and remove the CMOS battery.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD PCCMOSCLEANER FROM PCCMOS.COM AND BURN THE ISO IN A CD. NOW BOOT WITH IT. IT WILL CLEAR YOUR BIOS PASSWORD

How to install windows 7 for a new travelmate 5720

Just place the disc into the dvd rom, power on the computer and follow the prompts.
Usually you'll have to change the boot order under setup. Pay attention to any messages that pop up once you power on the computer, usually press the ESC key during boot up will give you a better idea of what key to push to enter into the setup or to choose which boot device to run first.

My acer travelmate can't boot it says system failure imminent replace hard disc 2. It says press F1 to continue

the error is telling you that your hard drive is in the process of failing. if you press f1 to continue you might still be able to boot. I recommend you backup your files as soon as possible if your still able too.

after that, you will need to get a new hard drive and reinstall the operating system.
