I have a samsung HL-P5063W Rear Projection. I changed the lamp today. When I turn the set on, the Lamp Indicator comes one and after about 30 seconds it goes off and the Stand By Indicator comes on. The Stand By indicator light goes off and the Lamp Indicator comes back on. This takes about 3 evolutions like this and then all of the Indicator being Flashing. Any ideas?

Hi.

The lamp indicator flashes when the lamp needs replacement. THe TV does not directly detect that the lamp is gone. The lamp replacement is prompted after a certain number of hours.

Both indicators flashing indicates that an internal fault was detected.

If the lamp does not fire up, then the problem is likely ballast board, which is the part that supplies power to the lamp. PSU, color wheel and DMD board may also be responsible. If problem is color wheel or DMD board you will usually have backlight.

Try again removing the lamp from the cage, and reinstall again the lamp. Ensure that the door is closed properly and restart TV. Remember to disconnect power cord while replacing the lamp.

If that does not work and there is no light, then problem is likely ballast. Call Samsung service number. Parts are also available at shops like Partstore or Encompass parts.

remove and inspect the lamp the model indicated uses---you can usually also look from the rear to see if lamp comes on at all---set also prone to bad color wheel--grinding or high pitched fan like sound--it faces the lamp--with lamp removed look to see it is not shattered or missing pieces and that lamp not shattered inside.

Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. Here's the instructions to replace it :http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp47-00033a.php But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs it could be time to replace the lamp. The lamp you need is BP9600224B.Have a blessed one!

you have the same problem I have. The problem is fixed by changing the new light bulb. The problem appears again after 1500 hours of use. You can keep buying new light bulbs or avoid it by not buying another Samsung TV.
