Hi:
Usually when a laptop keyboard has a key knocked off, a small part of the plastic mounting bracket is broken. The good news is that most laptop keyboards can be bought and replaced inexpensively, usually $20 or less, and are fairly simple to change the entire keyboard. check for your model on ebay, and your laptop will be good as new!

Do the keys light up on the d6v-3227-cl laptop if so how

This laptop does not have back lit keys. If you want back lit keys, you must buy an external keyboard. These are some keyboards you can purchase and connect to your laptop with keys that light up- http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_16?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=backlit+keyboard&x=0&y=0&sprefix=backlit+keyboard

I got problem with key pad of *,5,C, and center joystick button on my sony ericsson k770i...can u help me on how to solve the problem..?? tqvm...

emove sticky tape securing the keyboard cable to back of the keyboard.Part of the keyboard cable is glued to the keyboard. Carefully separate the cable from the keyboard.Start peeling off the aluminum protective film Remove the protective film. After the protective film is removed it's really hard to attach it back to the keyboard because it's deformed. Most laptop keyboards have some kind of plastic separators.
These separators secured on the back of the keyboard.
Plastic pins are melted on the back of the keyboard and retain separators in place.Push all plastic pins though wholes on the keyboard.Start removing the separator. The plastic separator has been removed.
Now you'll have to remove all key caps.
Before you start removing key caps, make a picture or xerocopy of the keyboard so you know the order in which keys are attached to the keyboard. In order to remove the key cap carefully lift it up with your fingers.Remove the key cap so the hinge underneath stays connected to the keyboard.
Some big keys have a different design.
In addition to the hinge, some big keys (Back space or Space bar for example) might have an additional support bracket.Remove the key cap with the support bracket. As you see, the key hinge stays connected to the keyboard. Some laptop keyboards might have blank covers on the left and right sides from the up arrow key.Lift up and remove the blank cover. All keyboard key caps and plastic separators have been removed. Now you can start removing key hinges - key lifting mechanisms.Carefully separate the key hinge from the keyboard.
Each key hinge has two parts - external and internal pieces.
When you remove the hinge, try to keep these parts connected to each other the same way they are connected on the keyboard. If the external and internal pieces got separated, you can assemble them together. If you following this guide to repair the keyboard, I would recommend to keep all hinges in the right order.
The keyboard has two sheets laying one on the top of another.
Remove the sheet with silicone (or rubber) nipples.Remove the second sheet with traces. Both sheets have been separated from the keyboard base. The sheet with traces has two layers and all traces are running between these layers. In order to access and repair traces you'll have to separate to layers from each other. The keyboard has been disassemble.
As you see it's not easy to disassemble a laptop keyboard and even harder to put it back together.
Is it worth repairing? Probably not. These days you can find a new laptop keyboard very cheap.

Key come off

Depending on the keyboard design, some keys can be snapped back on. If that doesn't work, then generally a replacement keyboard is in order.

I usually find keyboards on ebay by searching for the model of the system

EXAMPLE: Dell D600 keyboard

Most keyboards can be replaced for around $20

Keys on Casio keyboard pulled up

I have a Casio CT-648, which looks like a smaller version of yours. I had the same problem, and got brave and opened it up. I took off the back, which takes several screws. Once it was opened up, I saw the keyboard was fastened to the frame in sections of keys. I unscrewed the section with the raised key (I believe it was 5 screws), slid the key section toward the front of the keyboard, and was able to get the slides to re-engage with the tab below it. I now have a smooth keyboard.

FN key

(FuNction key) A keyboard key that works like a shift key to activate the second function on a dual-purpose key, typically found on laptops to reduce keyboard size. It is different than the function keys F1, F2, etc. It is also a real nuisance when the PageUp and PageDn keys are placed on the Up and Down Arrow keys and have to be activated by pressing the Fn key.

Hope this helps you,

Some keyboard keys don't work

you don't say which keys don't work and if the keyboard is more than 1 year old you may open case via the screws in back of keyboard please note down the keys that don't work then the keys that you don't use that often just swap the rubber conntacts on them if yours has the rubber membrain it needs to be sent back to the manufacture of the keyboard to have them replace the membrain but if the keyboard is in warrenty then get it sent back with the details of sale. look for all screws they may be hidden.
