I have an IBM Thinkpad R51. The J key has fallen off, but the little ******/nipple thingy is still attached firmly.

I have got the key, and both parts of the legs, but I just can't figure out how to get it back on, or hot to get the white leg attached to the key cap!

Please help, this is driving me insane!

Lenova x230 tablet swivel hinge repair

It is possible to replace the hinge, but it is a couple hours of tricky work. If you are not comfortable completely dismantling your computer, I would take it to a repair shop. You can usually find the hinge on ebay. Just search for "thinkpad x230 tablet swivel hinge part".

I replaced the hinge on my x61 tablet without any trouble, but I am very comfortable with repairing computers. Take lots of pictures to make sure you get it back together correctly, and keep track of where the screws go, there are a lot of them. Good luck!

Here is the repair manual for the x230:

Key on IMB Lenovo ThinkPad X61 came off.

If the small plastic hinges are still attached to the keyboard, then place the key over these hinges, align it with the others keys and press down on the key until it click onto these hinges.

I popped the key cover off an IBM thinkpad. How do I replace it?

The white hinge assembly likely has two parts to it that make it form a spring in the form of a letter X. You should see small catches for the feet of these two parts on the keyboard -- they will fit properly only one way. Put that back on. Then you can snap the key itself back on and it will be "springy" just like the others.

How to remove the display on IBM T21 laptop

The laptop screen is secured to the laptop with screws at the hinges.
There are usually two screws per hinge. The LCD screen has one ribbon cable and possibly a power connector for the back lighting attached to the motherboard near the hinges. Disconnect these before you lift the LCD off the base, they are under the plastic panel above the function keys next to the hinges.

Key No 2 has come off ibm Series 43 thinkpad keyboard

It would be very difficult to describe, as it's a bit fussy.
What you should do is carefully pull off the tilde (top left below the F1) key with your fingernail. Look at how the gray and white parts fit in. If you simply get them in this shape and press straight down, it will click into place.
If you haven't disturbed this configuration, simply pressing the key straight down will click it into place.

My ibm thinkpad key ""Q" came loose

You have to work with it and don't be scared of it. If you easily take another one off you will see how it goes on. It is a puzzle. You might want to take it to a shop because you can't replace single key's. Not that I have found anyway.
