Grnite is SLIGHTLY conductive so if your counter top goes anywhere near live wires such as an appliance, you may sense it is hot with thaat detector. The stray field from the microwave is jumping onto the granite... HOWEVER please verify that your ground on the microwave is intact and returns to the third wire and has continuity to the case of your breaker box. If the ground is broken, that will certainly cause the indication. You can get one of those receptacle testers to test this.

ALSO NEVER trust the detector when safety is an issue. The device is "indication only" and it can be wrong for various reasons.

How do I mount Kenmore dishwasher model 65515779 to granite counter top?

Joanne,
You need a granite/stone counter-top mounting kit. It will be a metal strip that you can attach to your cabinets and allow you to screw some short screws up into that metal strip. I would think that most major home repair dealers would have something like that. Dishwasher Undercounter Mounting Kit W10426979 The Home Depot

We are installing a dishwasher--have it hooked up but can't seem to get the leveling legs loose so we can adjust the height. Also, the anchoring peices of metal stick out farther than our countertop.

Hello, This dishwasher has the ability to be mounted to the cabinets on either side of the dishwasher.the mounting brackets can be moved to each side. If it must be mounted to the counter top, the mounting tabs can be bent by hand and it will break the front part of the mounting tab. This will shorten the mounting bracket. If you have granite counter tops do not attempt to drill into to the granite counter call a granite fabicator. The leveling feet are hexagon shaped at the top of the of the leveling leg. Remove the front lower toe kick panel. This will allow access to the top of the leveling legs, then use a small cresent wrench or a socket and rachet.Hope this helps.Joe Connolly

I am upset that I did an etching project and I accidently got some etching cream on my black granite counter tops. It looks like it is just discolored. But it sticks out like a sore thumb because it is...

Is it a genuine GRANITE counter top??? I'm surprised an etching solution damaged it... what was the etching solution for, glass, metal??? to be honest I would try to find a spot of the counter top somewhere that is not showing and do some testing before addressing the visible spot, first replicate the issue with the etching solution at the hidden spot (or on some left over peace of counter), than try different cleaning solutions (ask an expert on granite counter tops) if it does not work try a polishing solution or even some acids could bring back the colour...

Good luck!

Any granite fabrication shop should be able to send a couple workers out to cut the existing granite for your new downdraft.

Mounting my dishwasher to granite counter tops. Granite Grabbers last about a week before they loosen up

Ask a local granite fabrication shop to get you some dishwasher mounting clips. They look like a perforated disc of metal with a small nut brazed to one side. They come with a short screw that attaches through your dishwasher mounting tabs. Place your dishwasher where you want it relative to the cabinets and pick a hole in the mounting tabs that won't leave the clip protruding and attach the clip to the chosen hole. Use masking tape on the top of your dishwasher door, wipe the bottom of the granite and the top of the clip with acetone, then use a gel-type two part epoxy from your local hardware store to attach the clip to the granite. Use enough to make the epoxy push through the perforations in the clip as this is how the epoxy grips the clip. Push the clip to the bottom of the granite and close the dishwasher door, using a wood shim or two between the top of the door and the mounting tab/clip to push the clip tight to the granite. Pull the shims out once the epoxy has cured (check the instructions on the epoxy).

I'm having my kitchen counter tops replaced with granite. I have a GE Model GSD700 dishwasher that is now attached to the existing counter top. The granite counter tops will not accept having a dishwasher...

• Purchase and install the GPF65 side-mount
bracket kit if the underside of counter is granite
or a similar material that will not accept wood
screws. The GPF65 kit is available from authorized
GE appliance dealers.

Also note that any stainless steel tub models would be able to accomadate granite tops without a kit, and I beleive all Profile GE models come with the kit included.

Need side mount brackets gpf65 because of granite counter top, model #ghda485n10cs ser# rm763786b, quietpower3 dishwasher

I don’t know your counter situation, usually you have to put dishwasher in a bottom cabinet and mount both side. Suppose you only have one side to mount, you have to go to home depot to buy a 90 degree metal mounting bar, mount the top part to your top granite support board, the bottom side mount to the dishwasher, it should be a ¾” plywood board underneath the granite, you can use ½” screw to mount it.

Hope this can help you,
