I purchased my Onkyo TX-SR 606 a few days ago from a shop in Nottingham. I finally got it connected up only to notice that I cannot receive any of the high definition sounds when playing titles such as I Am Legend on my PS3 or World Trade Center on my Toshiba-HD-E-1 dvd player. I have the latest firmware updates for both machines. I can hear lossless audio when I push the required button or is it not lossless audio,I am not sure.None of the digital symbols are popping up on the Display Panel either. Can someone please help me as this is starting to worry me somewhat. Any help will be deeply appreciated.

You need to set your PS3 to output "Linear PCM" and not "Bitstream" in the Bluray preferences. PS3 does not support sending direct TrueHD/DTS Master HD signals and thus they will not light up on your receiver. If you press the triangle button on the PS3, in the top it'll confirm which audio codec it is decoding.

This is one of many reasons I recommend against routing ANY video through a receiver if the TV/ monitor has enough connections for all of the video sources.

Bypass the receiver andsee what happens, then isolate a cause.

Onkyo tx-sr 606 HDMI signals not working anymore...

I am sorry about your issue,. If the reset did not resolve your issue the receiver would need to be serviced. It if was purchased from an authorized seller less than 2 years ago it would be under warranty. Thank you. Onkyo USA

Onkyo TX-SR 606 KEEPS CLICKING INSTEAD OF TURNING ON WHEN POWERED

Here are your options:

1. An electrical problem, where your receiver has a grounding problem.
2. Your speaker wire connections are actually touching each other and that's why your receiver is not turning on.
