Blue screen of death says acpi bios noncompliance. Help!!

Did you change something in the bios? Enter the BIOS and check the Power Management or just Power settings and disable ACPI. This should solve the problem.Windows would again find new hardware and then should work normally. If ACPI not found under power it could also be under Advanced tab. Did you install any new hardware?.The hardware might be non ACPI compliant hence the error.

Dell 8300 not loading xp home with the blue screen of death

To resolve this behavior, contact the manufacturer of your computer to obtain a BIOS that is fully ACPI compliant.

To work around this behavior, manually install the Standard PC hardware abstraction layer (HAL):
  1. Restart the computer to restart Setup.
  2. When Setup starts again, press F7 (not F6) when you see the "Press F6 if you need to install a third-party SCSI or RAID driver" screen.
Windows automatically disables the installation of the ACPI HAL and installs the Standard PC HAL.

On the k7s5a motherboard i am getting an error stating acpi not supported by the bios

Hi s_gehring,

Have you installed something new on your board? What this is telling you is that the ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) does not work with something on the board. Or check your bios setting and make sure you have ACPI turned on.

Thanks Mark

Acpi bios

Hi suleman_indi, I'm guessing you have a question about the D845GVSR motherboard. If your question refers to the bios setting for ACPI. Disable it until windows has been updated to SP2. Enter your bios & enable the ACPI. Should be fine once windows has been updated. Click on this link to load Intel's site for the Intel D845GVSR motherboard.

If you find you need more information, feel free to update your question.

Good luck!

Problem on o/s installation

Look in your bios & see if you can disable the ACPI, (which you should be able too do. Finish installing your OS. Than update the OS. After completing all updates re-enter your bios & enable the ACPI. You should not get that error message after re-start.
Boards that support ACPI will get this error during a fresh install untill they get windows updated. All OS's
Post back if this did not help! It worked for me.

Problem istalling windows 2000 professional on a pc with intel d945gcnl motherboard

try to make bios settings default and make a proper installation

The bios in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor for an updated bios. If you are unable to obtain an updated bios or the latest bios supplied by your vendor is not ACPI compliant, you can turn off ACPI mode during text mode setup. To do this, simply press the F7 key when you are prompted to install storage drivers. The system will not notify you that the F7 key was pressed - it will silently disable ACPI and allow you to continue your installation."
