NO DRUM ACTION ON MY TDC30 BUT DO GET HEAT

When you start the dryer does it sound as if it is running but it does not tumble? Or does it make a humming noise?

If it sounds like it's running I'd check the belt first,
Humming noise and burning smell Dan indicate a bad motor or something stuck in blower wheel.

GE DPXH46GA6CC gas dryer makes large humming noise in heat cycles and burning smell

Two things are likely going on here,1- something is dragging down your motor check for a twist in the belt, idler pulley bad, belt installed wrong or wrong belt. Also check your front drum felt and glides if the felt is bunched up that will drag down the motor. Now the smell you probably have some felt or lint in the burner clean it carefully you do not want to damage your igniter.

My Kenmore 90 Series electric dryer makes a humming noise when I push the start button. It heats up, run for a short while, then stops. Before it stops there is a clicking noise like a circuit or safety...

There's possibilty that the bearing is going bad. It would cause the belt to slide alittle when the drums starts to turn. The strain on the motor because of the bad bearing can cause the motor overload and shut down until it cools, then it can be restarted.

Dryer smells like something is burning and making a slight humming sound

check tub bearings and/or rollers or for anything that could impede the turning of the tub. Sounds like something is stopping the tub enough
to make the drive motor turn on the belt causing it to burn and smell.
If you fix the problem with the tub be sure and change the belt

Dryer got very hot and smelled burning..

This is usually a result of a stalling idler pulley or drum, causing a burned spot on the drum drive belt.

The situation will only worsen. The belt is best replaced before it breaks.

Items to pay attention to, when the drum drive belt is replaced, are:
(1) Clean and lube the idler pulley and drum roller shafts.
(2) Confirm that the drum glides will yield additional service life.
(3) Check motor condition and de-lint the blower housing and blower intake pathways.

Burning Smell from Belt on Whirlpool Dryer

Hi, You need to check and see if the belt has slipped off of one of the pulleys. Was the idler the wheels style or a glide style?
Make sure the grooves in the belt are facing the drum and they are in the grooves of the motor pulley.
Please let me know if this helps and if I can assist you further.
