The battery may be faulty, try connecting the GPS to your computer to see it will connect and starts charging. If it does not connect you have a serious problem probably not worth reparing as the cost can be as much as a new one.
If this is the case and you are sure a building or other natural obstruction is not causing this loss of signal problem then the GPS is defective. This model is not worth fixing as the one that replaced it is cheaper than reparing the 200

Hi, according to the Garmin user manual on its device, if you forget your pin and security information that will enable you unlock your Garmin device, you must send your Nuvi to Garmin to get it unlocked. You must also send a valid product registration or proof of purchase.

If you want to remove the receiver and send it for repair, you should contact whichever of the Factory Service Centers is closest to your location.
