Enable the microphone on a toshiba equium

you need to get a mic / headset
ive even found them in the £1 shop
and they work aok

on the front of the equium is wo sockets and a small volume rotory control
place the green plug into he headphone socket
and the other plug into the mic input socket

the equium doesnt have a built in mic

so you need to do this
once this is done you can open the volume control {task bar} or the realtek applet in the control panel
or .. just the windows sound applet
fine the mic input section and check its not muted
you can use skype echo test to make the levels good and test it out
windows all also allow you too do this

my advice with the equium and XP is too go to the realtek site and download the AC97 driver from there
it works better

ive retired my equium now but it still works fine and i enjoyed writing over 2GB of code and projects on it ..

good old equium

Oh! Sorry.
Try to search for the XP Drivers for your Laptop or Return the OS to Windows Vista, some Toshiba Laptops does not have XP Drivers if downgraded from Vista to XP.

Hi,

Windows XP Driver for Equium A60:

Windows 2000 Driver for Equium A60:

http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/Satellite/sa60/win-2k/display-win2k-614106430.zip

Generally all Toshiba drivers you will find on this website:

http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

PS: You should use the Toshiba graphic drivers because these drivers are especially designed for notebook usage.

I can load vga after formatting

Try Using Downloading and using the driver from this site :
http://www.laptopdrivers.net/toshiba-equium-l300-laptop-download-windows-vista-to-xp-drivers/

Or Directlink to the VGA Driver for it.
http://uploading.com/files/WS9G50H6/Toshiba-Equium-L300-Intel-Graphics-VGA-display-20080519181914-Driver-For-XP_-_ww...zip.html

But before using this one, just make sure you remove ..or rollback the previous one.
Goodluck!

My equium ea60-155 needs to be reformated ; can i use xp install

Loading XP back on isn't the problem, it will be the chipset drivers that you will need for your onboard graphics, sound etc... before you format and load XP back onto your laptop contact Toshiba for the chipset drivers for your laptop.

If XP is causing you problems, why no repair the verison you already have on there? If you put the XP disk in when given the choice to press enter to install or 'R' for repair. Press R. It will replace any corrupted files to your system with new ones.

I hope this helps.

No sound devices found

This is a link to the download site for Toshiba drivers. Select the model of your laptop and click Go to retrieve a list of available drivers. Before doing this, however, you need to be certain of the model number of your laptop. Equium is the make of toshiba desktop computers and A60 is the model number for a Toshiba Satellite laptop. Look on the bottom of your laptop for a label that will have the exact model number you need then select that on the website.
