Hi,did you close the door cover?Make sure itsproperly shut other wise it won't tv light up. Reset the lamp timer? you can do this by unpluging the set for 5 min and plug it back(works for most sets). Was the fan running ok? You can clean it w an air pressure can. If you heard clicking or like wanting to turn on the problem could be with the board that powers the lamp. The board it's called the ballast. If its not able to provide the power to the lamp it will not turn it on and the red light will blink. Also did you get the original Philips lamp if you got a generic that could be your problem.God Bless you!bless!
Can you unplug the TV for about 15 seconds, and then plug back in and watch the stand-by light. Tell me how many time the stand-by light blinks in regular intervals. If it doesn't blink at all, you need to change a fuse on the g-board. Once this is done run back through the stand-by blink light process, and more troubleshooting can be done if problem isn't already solved. If the stand-by light just keeps blinking with a count over ten just tell me, and I'll look for other possibilities.
do me a favor, if the set is still together, please remove the back, and find the convergence card... it is on the upper right hand side. Unplug the RED plastic plug ONLY. Now try to turn on the TV. If it turns on, but the picture looks completely out of convergence, then yo uneed to replace the 2 STK392-040 IC's and you will have to test all of the 3.9 ohm resistors on the board. You will usually find 1 or 2 bad. let me know what you find.
I own a Sony T.V. model #KV36HS510, Serial # 9024184,Event# E36002407 and it"s aTrinitron brand name. Like the problems before no picture or sound, stand by light on front of unit flashes. When trying to turn it back on you can hear the power click, like it wants to turn on, but does not.
your red crt bulb is starting to go bad.
somtimes you can tap lightly on the neck of
the red and the prob. usually short term will go away.
if not tube replacement is necessary.
