Primera Disk Publisher II prints very dull/faded when choosing the "printing only" option. Otherwise works just fine!

Problem solved. It turned out to be a dvd problem. A stack of recently bought dvd's appears to have different (quality of) printing surfaces. As a weird coincidence up to last friday I hit all the right ones at the wrong moment and vice versa.

SOURCE: i can,t print

this usually indicates there is a problem with the cartridge, check the bottom of each cartridge and see if the colour barcodes are intact and ensure you are not trying to start the machine with the lid up as too much light coming in will also cause the problem when reading the coloured barcodes on the bottom of each cartridge

SOURCE: BRAVO PRIMERA 11 ERROR CD PUBLISHER

The Publisher has a cartridge problem. Check to make certain that the cartridges are installed correctly and that the bar code labels on the underside of the cartridge are not damaged.

SOURCE: canon mp530 - colors print dull and faded

The ink tanks may be full but sometimes the pins that connect the cartridges to the printer may have dried up ink on them preventing the ink from flowing. You can try to swab these with a bit of rubbing alcohol on a Qtip and letting it dry for moment or two. I would strongly suggest doing a couple of deep cleanings first and try test printing of the individual colours separately in a program such as paint to see which colour is affected.

SOURCE: I got cut off last time so we will try again.

Does the printer head have a cleaning feature in the software? If it does I would try that to see if it improves your printing.

I am getting an "there is no ink cartridge

Are you removing the seal (looks like tape) from the new cartridge before installing? It needs to be pulled off in order for electrical contacts to touch. Otherwise, may need to replace printer.

How do I get a page from Publisher and E-mail it?

One easy way would to be install a PDF printer. Go to google and search for doPDF and download it. It will install and act as if it is a printer. Go into Publisher and print the page, choose doPDF as your printer and click print. It will load a box asking you where to save the PDF. Choose the location and print it to a PDF file. Then you can email the PDF. Otherwise, the person receiving the file wont be able to open it unless they have Publisher installed as well.

I am printing a brochure that i created on microsoft publisher, but i can't get it to print double sided the right side up for both pages

Hello:
The Brother DCP-7030 supports manual duplex only. When choosing duplex (2-sided) printing, it will print the even-numbered pages first and prompts you to reinsert the pages in a different orientation.
To correctly print the second side of your brochure, you could do one of two things:
  1. Reverse the orientation of the paper when you reinsert if for the second side of printing.
  2. Reverse the direction of the second page in Publisher.
The first option is simple enough. When the Brother driver directs you to insert the paper for the second side, insert it in a rotated position. It should be on the same side, but rotated 180 degrees.
The second option is also easy, but if you want to edit the document in the future, it will involve in some work before being able to edit it.
  1. In Publisher, select all of the objects on the page (pressing "Ctrl" and "A" on your keyboard at the same time will accomplish this).
  2. Right-click on an object on the page.
  3. Choose "Group"
  4. Your objects are now grouped into one item.
  5. There should be a green dot at the halfway point at the top of the group. You can click and drag this dot until the object is rotated 180 degrees. Alternatively, you could go to the menu and choose "Arrange>Rotate or Flip>Rotate Left 90 degrees" twice.
  6. Now when you print, you should follow the Brother driver directions when flipping the paper.

I am printing business cards and I am using thick paper but colors come out dull looking but if I change the paper to PLAIN then the colors come out just perfect, full, vivid and rich but I am afraid that...

Its most likely the paper you are printing on. It sounds like this is an ink printer. The way ink works is that it is absorbed into the paper you are printing on. Some paper pulls the ink too far into the paper causing it to look dull and faded. You need to make sure you are printing on paper that is designed for inkjet printers. There are a lot of companies that make special paper designed for printing your own business cards. I prefer Avery products since they have a guarantee.

Check this link out for some options on InkJet business card options.

My printer will not print text.

Did you try and change the ink cartridge mode from color + black to color, or vice versa? Another thing you can try is to "prime" the ink cartidges by taking them out of the printer and gently pressing on the print nossels to get the ink flowing, then put the cartridges back in the printer.

Section 5: Maintenance and Troubleshooting

A. INTERPRETING THE PUBLISHER’S INDICATOR LIGHTS

The Power/Ink button can tell you what is happening inside
the Publisher. Please refer to the following:
Power/Ink Button Publisher
Fast Flashing The Publisher is initializing. You will see this
pattern when the Publisher is first turned on.
Wait until the lights stop blinking before
opening software or starting jobs.
Slow Flashing The cover is open and the ink cartridge carrier
is in change position. Insert a new cartridge
and close the cover. (The slow flashing light
can also indicate an out of media condition,
a robotic error or a picking problem. However,
these conditions are always paired with a error
message on screen.)

B. CLEANING THE PUBLISHER

NOTE: Do NOT attempt to oil or grease the Publisher's Robotic Arm shaft
or other components. You will likely cause more harm than good!
Any moving parts are designed to operate for the life of the machine
with no additional lubrication required.
Use a clean, lint-free rag with a small amount of ammonia
window cleaner to clean the Publisher's outside case and
trays. This type of cleaner is very effective on inks that may
accumulate on the printer tray. Stronger cleaning solutions are
NOT recommended because they may damage the paint and
plastic materials from which the parts are manufactured.
Always disconnect your Publisher's power cords before
cleaning. Resume operation only after the surfaces are
completely dry.

C. PERFORMING A ROBOTIC SELF-TEST

To ensure that everything is working properly, a Self-Test
feature is built in to your Publisher. In this mode, the Robotic
Disc Transporter will go through the motions of picking and
placing a disc to ensure proper working order. This test may be
performed without connecting the Publisher to the PC.
Perform the test by doing the following steps:
• Load some discs into the Input Bin.
• Open the cover.
• Press and hold the power button for five seconds. The test
will start.
• To stop the test, close the cover and press the power
button.

D. CLEANING THE INK CARTRIDGE

It may be necessary to clean the ink cartridge nozzles if you
notice reduced print quality, or if you suspect an cartridge nozzle
has become slightly dried out or clogged. If you are having
print quality problems, follow the steps below:
1. Remove the print cartridge.
2. Moisten a lint-free cloth with water.
3. Hold the cloth against the
nozzles for three seconds.
This will “wick” some
additional ink onto the damp
cloth.
4. Wipe in one direction only.
5. Repeat the process

E. TECHNICAL SUPPORT

If you have difficulties in operating your Publisher, the
procedures in this manual and the software User's Guide
should, in most cases, solve the problem. If you still have
difficulty, contact the technical support number listed on the
insert included in the supply pack that came with your
Publisher.
