Please try the following troubleshooting tips:
Ensure that your phone is powered on and that there is sufficient signal strength. When you are at the start screen or in a call, the strength of the radio signal is indicated by the signal indicators on the left side of your phone''''s display. These indicators move up as the strength of the signal increases and down as the signal decreases.
If there is a headset attached to the phone, it will not ring. You should be able to hear the ringing through the headset. Detach the headset and retest the phone to determine if that resolves the issue.
Check to see if the phone is in the "Silent" profile. If the phone is in the "Silent profile", change the "Silent" profile to the "Normal" profile and retest. To change your profile, please refer to your user guide.
Ensure that a ring tone has been enabled and the volume is not too low. (Please follow the instructions in your user guide.)
If your phone goes straight to voice mail without ringing and your phone is powered on and you have sufficient signal strength, your service provider may need to reset your voicemail services.
If your phone still will not ring, please submit your phone to repair so they may try to resolve the issue for you.
either your profile is silent or your volume is down. whenever your profile is in silent mode/vibrate mode even if someone is calling you it wont ring. change that to ringer via settings and sounds.
To switch off silent mode please follow the below instructions
Menu > Profiles >
You will get following options in it
Normal/General
Silent
Meeting
Outdoor
Pager
Scroll through the normal/General profile and Press selectonce the normal/General profile is highlighted. Scroll to Selectand press Select. Now you are out of silent mode. If the mobile is still in general and in silent mode then follow the below steps. Scroll to the normal/General profile and press Select. Scroll to Customize and press Select. In that you will have an option called as Ringing Option. Please set it to ringing and save the settings. You are done
Depending on what type and make of phone; you might have volume control on the sides of the phone. If so try to adjust the ring type there.
Another thing to try would be to check the profile setting of your phone. Some Motorola phones have this option in which a paticular ringtone is assigned to the profile. Change the profile setting on your screen and this should solve your issue.
dear agillan,
you have two options. first one.. on your home screen u have goto option in left side. click that.when you scrool down you can see 11th option as general and 12th as silent. chosse 11th option(general). now your profile wil b change to general profile.
hi, have you tried enter setup then profile then select general this should then set your phone back to normal if not then instead of going to general go to silent and change the settings under the silent profile, like turn ringtone on and select ringtone. Try the first option first as this is quick and easy failing than then just change the settings under the silent profile then you can even change the name from silent to general then you can change one of the other profiles to silent so try it then get back to me if you need further assistance ok
