Anonymous Posted on Aug 22, 2010

Hi, I have a Dell Studio 1558 Laptop. I have a dvd stuck in it. If restarted it will detect it initially but as i press eject button or right click the drive n click eject, then it shows no disc in drive. I don't have a tray drive but there is a slot for inserting the disc. So how can i get the DVD out? Please help.

Take a paper clip and straighten it. Easy goes - insert it in the small hole in the tray, just a little at a time. When you start to feel resistance, gently push a tiny bit more, and the tray will open. But do remember - be careful, don't just jam it in or you may damage your DVD as well as your tray. Sounds like you may need to have a new drive installed.

Sorry, I misunderstood your description. There will still be a way to remove it - I have not seen any of the types you have, but there may be a tiny hole anyhow. Otherwise, go to my computer, then right click on the icon for the dvd drive, and click "eject". Sometimes this works.

Dell Studio 1535 Laptop

Hi Kwesi Quincy,

The Optical drive (DVD drive) is present on the right hand side in a Dell Studio 1535 system so please press the eject button next to it and see if that helps. You may refer the attached picture which might help.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks and Regards.
Kiran Kumar.

Cannot find the icon to eject cd from Dell Studio 1558? how can I eject the cd disk?

You can eject cd's by right clicking on Computer (from your Start Menu) then right click on the drive you'd like to eject. There should be an option to do so.

Studio 15 laptop the dvd is stuck and no bezel

Try to take the disk out of the computer using the following option

Normally the studio laptops have soft eject for the CD and they dont have a button.. Press and hold the Fn key and then press the F10 key to eject the cd.. Another way is get into computer.. Right click on the DVD/cd rom drive and click on eject... This will work....

If its still not working callup Dell to fix the issue since it might be a issue with the DVD drive even

Disc will not eject from dell studio laptop

try this first. go to the computer window then right click on the dvd icon then click on eject. if this fails then restart the computer once sees dell logo then keep tapping on f2 once you reach the bios screen press the eject button from the media control check if it will do. if fails since you are already in the bios screen look for the bios verion take note of it, exit the bios screen boot normally to windows. go to the internet support.dell.com to download the latest bios version. after downloading the latest bios i want you to uninstall the dvd firmware, go to the computer icon right click then properties, this will show you the properties windows then click on device manager, on the device manager window click on the + sign beside dvd / cd rom then underneath right click on the device driver then uninstall. reboot the computer. once you back in windows it will automatically reinstall the driver. if this fails thats the time you are going to flash the bios you previously downloaded.

Ejecting cd dell studio 17

Supposing that the Studio 15 / 17 has a slot loading drive:

You can either press the eject button above the keyboard (the touch sensitive one)

or

Go to 'Computer' in Vista and right click the CD/DVD drive. Then click 'Eject'.

This should work.
