My LG Plasma 42PC1DV turns on but freezes, the picture is frozen but the sound stays on...the it takes a long time for it to turn off. when you turn it back on the picture goes fro about 3 seconds and does the same thing

Hi wendy, I have the same model tv and it has been doing exactly the same problem you have ever since buying it (2007 - 08) and every time it does freeze it seems to be on channel 9. The only way i overcome this problem is to turn the tv off at the wall for atleast an hour and turn it back on and it seems to re-set itself or should i say the built in set top box re-sets itself and it works fine for a few months and bang it does it again. Apparently there is a LG software update but only technicians can install this. Anyway thats my story! :)
