Liftmaster Wall Control Button not working after replacing gear

We recently had to replace the gear in our garage door. After we were done we were able to reset the remote, but were unable to get the wall mounted button to work. The wall mounted button was working before we replaced the gear. Now it will not work and the light on the button is not on. This is the doorbell looking button inside the garage. Thanks so much!!!

Check wiring back to unit to make sure it's not shorted or broken. You can also reset the garage door opener by unplugging it for a few minutes and plugging it back in.

My Liftmaster Wall Control (Large White Button) green light is not illuminated and I cannot open/close my garage. Remotes work fine. Which part needs replacement?

They have self diagnostic features and are 'smart'. Make sure there is nothing near the two door sensors and make sure they are clean. No model number given, but generic help in the link.

My Liftmaster GDO makes a clicking sound and won't open

See if the trolley is jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. If so remove the bolt and then run the opener until the door is closed. While the door is closed locate the 'up limit' control which is on the side of the motor unit. Turn this control 2 complete turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Remember to replace the bolt.

Garage door motor reset button must be pressed to work again

It sounds like you have a bad wall control. You can check this out by replacing it with an inexpensive door bell button.

reset your remotes and your main transmitter after removing and replacing the remote batteries (these use rolling codes that change each time you operate the door) the procedure for doing this is listed on the liftmaster website

Door opens on it own and light blinks

  • Stuck remote control button. Check all remotes. check LED on receiver.
  • Staples around Multi-Function Control Panel bell wire could be cutting into that wire. Remove wires from opener and test. Replace staples causing intermittent short.
  • Multi-Function Control Panel could have sticking door control push bar. Remove wires from control panel and test. Replace control panel if defective.
