Question about Sears Craftsman LiftMaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Wireless Keypad Model 976LM Security+

With my door closed, i push door button to open and the chain and opener continues inthe closing mode. any help?

Closing our garage door,the door closed 3/4 way and stopped. i puyshed remote button again and the door closed. Now when i push any buttons at wall or remotes the opener continues in the closed direction.

Todd, I'm sorry to hear about your garage door remote staying in the closed mode, even when you're trying to open it. My sister just purchased her first home a few months ago. when the door stops moving when going down, pull the emergency release handle on the door and then push the door closed by hand. Once it's closed push the emergency handle back so it engages the chain. Open the door and close it a few times to make sure it closes all the way with the motor.

Liftmaster Garage Door Won't Close

Sounds like maybe the door traveled too far and the trolley has jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor. If so, loosen the chain enough to take the tension off the chain and then run the opener until the door closes. While the door is closed locate the 'up limit' control on the side of the motor unit and turn it 2 full turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Tighten the chain.

Garage door opener closes when closed

Try this: Loosen the chain enough that you can remove it from the sprocket above the motor. Now run the opener until the sprocket turns in the clockwise direction and stops. Reconnect the chain. This will get everything in sync and you will have to tweak the 'up and down limits' a bit to get it just right.

Garage Door opened but will not close. I opened

You have a door sensor problem. Make sure the sensors are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not blinking. Also check the wiring.

Garage door opener will not continue to open garage door.

You say your door won't open and then you say your door won't close. Anyway you have a door sensor problem. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. If you tweak them and the lights don't come on then you have either a wiring problem or a bad logic board.

You probably have a stripped gear inside opener. Take off cover and the bottom will be filled with white flakes from stripped gear
