My engine light is on my 2005 trailblazer and if I drive 10 or 12 miles it will shut down and I will have to wait at least 30 mins to an hour for it to start back again. At first the etc light came on now only the engine light.

have battery and alt tested[load test] check connections and fuses

fuel pump getting hot.
also i have seen crankshaft position sensor get hot and doesn't signal the pcm any rpm. so pcm will shut car off',

looks like a sensor has gone or been misread if you stop the engine for awhile like for 20 min and then start up and it runs ok, would think cam sensor has overheated, you will still be able to get home as its in limp mode just means there is no advanced timing this gets turned off. so if it does stay on you will be fine to get home.

if a spark issue needs chasing
it could be a fuel problem
maybe bad fuel or blocked fuel filter

Are you idling or is it doing 10 PSI driving it? If it has many miles on it it could be just getting worn out and that would be low oil pressure at idle when hot.

could be the fuel pump is going out that would be your best bet, i would check that.

some times light wont reset self got to have it shut off autozone want shut it off but most advance auto will or disconect pos. battery cable for 30 min. it will normaly reset light

What was the code you got,after the sevice soon light came on,and you had the code pulled?

why does the reduced power light come on , then the truck stalls. If you pull over and shut down the engine and wait a 30 secounds the truck will restart and run fine until the next time you start the truck. The truck has 48k miles
