Question about Cameras

1 Answer

My friends dropped my JVC Everio and I'm pretty **********. Is there a way I can fix the camera's screen? It's cracked and there are 2 black lines that strech across the screen.

Go on ebay and find one that is as-is accidents happen so don't be to ******* your friend. If your friend is sorry they would buy the one off ebay for you and help you replace the LCD. hope this helps.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

JVC Everio Drop Detection

Did you know that JVC Everio series has a drop detection circuitry. Its main purpose is to protect its hard drive inside from damage. Although in the users menu this features can be switched off but CPU still counts so that service personal knows what happen with your everio and customers can not lie in case of damage due to dropping.

Hundreds of lines on the lcd screen invariably means a crack. Panasonic charges $192+ and then they don't really fix it...they give you a refurbished camera from someone else.

My Kodak EasyShare M753's screen is white with black lines

That must have been caused by a drop and I'm pretty sure your screen is gone. Try to send it back to Kodak they may not charge you if it's not obviously physical damage, if they refuse to give you warranty service there are third party camera repair places but they will definitely charge you.

Hi there,

I'm sure you can get it replaced. You can call JVC's support line at + 1 (800) 252-5722 and provide them with the postal code of your Victoria, BC location. They would be able to provide you with the nearest service center, and any additional information that you may need.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Looking through the problems posted for all jvc camcorders it became obvious that mine was CCD problem, encountered by many others. Also jvc are fixing this for free, so if you have this problem go to a jvc sevice centre and you should have no problems. Suffice to say this site was invaluable in diagnosing my problem, and you have been recommended to my friends. Thankyou, I'll be back.

Cracked Camera

No easy fix. Pressure or impact is the usual cause of a cracked LCD. Try not to get the black stuff on anything....it's pretty toxic! The screen needs to be replaced (assuming there's no other, internal damage). They are usually in the range of $75 US.
