My understanding is if recorded off air or cable etc it is not possible to record correctly the CC displayed.

You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

You don't say what model it is. However, if you've still got power, and you can still view channels and you're not getting error messages (have you checked your messages?) in all probability you have filled your hard drive. You need to delete some of your recordings, or switch off any top up tv channels you don't need. If you don't know how to do this, please post again.

Any 4 line analog phone will work. However intercom will only work on RCA

The software you need is in a folder on the RCA recorder.
When you plug it up to the PC, let it autodetect and it will add a Thompson DV RCA device to your Drive list.
You should see four folders ABCD used for organizing the recordings internally. There is another folder at the bottom with the software install inside. Copy this SW to your pc and run the setup. It allows you to convert the .VOC files to a .WAV and manage the folders.

I, too, have this model phone and love it. The headset battery barely lasted 9 months. I've been bumped around to many places including Thompson, Radio Shack, etc. I do believe Thompson (800-338-0376) has the battery for the HANDset, but they DO NOT have the battery for the headset. The HEADset battery is available through partstore.com (on the internet) (866-925-7278). This shipping document gives you the pricing info:

You may well find that the HANDset battery is available there, also. The RCA HANDset battery part number is 5-2683. You will need this to cross reference if you use partstore.com.
Warning: Radio Shack will say that they have the replacement battery. I had to send the one they ordered for me back to Radio Shack - - don't need to say more!!!
