Connect aFacebook & Yahoo Account
One of Facebook's most convenient features is the ability to
import contacts from any number of email programs to add your friends.
Yahoo Mail is one of the many services featuring built-in
support for adding Facebook contacts, and connecting your accounts can be a
quick, simple procedure.
Go to Facebook (facebook.com) and sign into your account.
Click on "Find Friends" in the top right corner
of the screen.
Click on "Yahoo."
Enter your Yahoo Mail email address and click on
"Find Friends."
Enter your Yahoo Mail log-in information if you aren't
already signed into your Yahoo Mail in another window or browser tab.
Select the friends you wish to add to your Facebook from
the list of contacts who already have signed up with Facebook and click
"Add Friends."
Select the contacts you wish to send Facebook invites to
from the list of contacts who have yet to sign up with Facebook and click
"Send Invites."
If you are using Yahoo Messenger simply open your Yahoo Messenger program, log in using your log in information. Then at the top of the screen it says "Contacts" click this option then choose add contact. Now you can enter people with either their screen name, email address, or phone number if they have it posted. The request will be sent and must be accepted by the other person to become friends.
If you are just trying to add contacts in your yahoo mail, just log in> go to mail> then contacts> then add contacts and enter their email address.
Just use "Facebook Search" to find the person you know and then click on the "Add as Friend" button to the right of the searched listing. A friend request will be sent to that person. Once they confirm that, they will show up on your Friends List.

Hi, in the Yahoo! Messenger window, click the Add button. (With the Windows version, you can also click the Messenger menu and then select Add a Friend/Group.)
Step 1. Enter your friend's exact Yahoo! ID or alias name. Your friend must have a Yahoo! ID in order for you to add them to your list.

Step 4: Send your friend a message to appear along with the notice that you've added them.
Note: When you add a friend to your list, the friend is automatically notified and given the option to add you in return. If the friend adds you in return, you are notified.
This is how you can add your contacts and friends:
Click on "Contacts" in the top of the "Messenger" window pane.
Click on "Add a Contact".
You will then see two options. Either you can add somebody from their Messenger ID or email address or you can choose a contact from your address book.
For each contact you add, click on "Next" to take you through the process. An invitation will then be sent. A message "Add request pending" will appear on your Messenger Contacts List until each person accepts your invitation.

You right click on the contact that you want to IM and then click on " Instant Message". Another box will open up for you to type your message in. When you have finished typing your message, hit the "Send" button on the right of the box you are typing in.
If the person is showing as "online", he will get the message straight away. If the person if "offline", he will receive the message as soon as he signs into Yahoo Messenger.

Make sure that you have the most up-to-date messenger which can be downloaded here. Sounds like an incompatibility issue between your messenger and your friends.
I have used Zak's nobuddy before - it has been updated to work with yahoo's newest protocols.
Test: (A) I have 2 yahoo ID's - I added each to the other: (B) I use Yahoo Messenger version 9.0.0.2162 (C) I was invisible mode at all times on each ID
1 I then got this zak nobuddy to remove one from the other: 2 It worked (although it left no message - I was simply gone). 3 I then performed the normal add request - this too worked fine and I was added again as soon as ID2 accepted.
You say it's blocked from your contact list: I would check from messengers menu bar messenger/ preferences/ ignore list and see if your friends ID is in there.
