A WHILE BACK I PURCHASED AN ALPINE CDA-7894 AND WHENEVER I HOOKED IT UP THERE WAS NO MUSIC COMING OUT OF THE SPEAKERS OR PRE OUTS WHEN AN AMP WAS HOOKED UP, JUST CRACKLING NOISES. I TOOK IT TO AN AUDIO SHOP AND THEY SAID THAT IT SOUNDED LIKE THE AUDIO CHIP WAS BAD. THEY REPLACED IT AND STILL NO MUSIC. THEY SAID IT COUILD BE FIXED BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART NOR DID THEY TELL ME WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP!
The head unit needs to have the power supply of the head unit turned off so your external amp can be the power item.
Its detailed in the manual but here's how.
Hold the setup button for 3+ seconds (it's the small button to the left of the 1) use the up & down button (left & right arrows) to scroll through the option until you get to "PWR-IC". press the band button to toggle it on & off. It should be set to off so your external amp does the work.
